Rose City Comic Con 2014
Gonna call this review "Earth's Mightiest Tightiest Whitiest", on account of it being so... brief.
The second Rose City Comic Con was this last weekend. There was much to see and do and hear and drink.
On the Team PROPHET front, Sandra Lanz was there sharing a table with Joseph Bergin III. Lin the ButtOven was also there and some other guy, but I don't remember his name, I could look it up, later, I'll just save this as a draft and then edit it before I post it. It was the dude that wrote... SnaggleTooth Soccer Fan... DayMoon Gently? No, ... Demon, Demon Entry? No... Aaron Comedy? Montgomery Gentry? I dunno, something French sounding... anyway.
Much wares on the table, StrikeFiles selling fast.
Here's a proud Uncle Jables and his fresh hatched prince:
Such a striking pair.
That's a hand-colored-to-order print in the birthing process just behind the table. Are you following Sandra Lanz? She has much in the works, so many sinister stews are simmering.
Basically, if you weren't there, you missed it. Suffer in that knowledge.
"The Scale Pirates of the outer reef Exiled from the Scale World millennia ago Dance their fluorescent adventures between distant stars Far from the old earth empire" I read Prophet Strikefile #1 today finally. It was excellent. My fave pages were Sandra's Jaxson page, Brandon's Scale world page, and the page by Onta. So I sketched out this Frog Scale Pirate dude and was thinking like...Frog Harlock thoughts. The throat thing is this modified dolemantle that the frog pirates have genetically grafted into their line during their ages in exile. Also poison tipped finger claws and prolly some kind of ancient sword taken from a raid. Fun times. It was cool because I usually just draw people, I don't do cartoony anthropomorphic stuff really ever, so it was cool that it worked out. I also didn't ink anything which also kinda worked out.
OUT TODAY: Prophet Strikefile #1. This art is by the amazing Grim Wilkins. Matt Sheean and I colored it. Matt and I also have a pin-up in this issue.
