In the dim light Lexa entered the tent filled with her own guardsmen, Indra and various other faces. Following hours of battle discussions she was starved. The alliance with the Skaikru was not yet settled and the Commander was ready to unleash bloodshed on those that had fallen from the stars. Dressed in her armor she strolled straight to the large chair that was vacant for her, Gustus following at her heels. “We are still not at peace. By sunrise I want our defense lines doubled ” A hand lifted to wave in the food and drink that was to be carried by a servant. A hooded figure approached Lexa with a goblet and handed it to her. “I want my horse prepared so I can speak to Skaikru’s leader myself --” Gustus shook his head, “Heda” But Lexa raised a hand to silence him, the goblet tipped up towards her lips....

It was done! The one who would have killed all human beings was dead. Now it was just him and Octavia. Once he removed his blade from the body, he reached for the necklace. At the end of this, one of them would have them all, so what did it matter who took it? But the movement reminded him of what adrenaline masked: Wounds. He was weakened. It wasn’t impossible for Octavia to win. He knew, she was Skaikrus best warrior, though not trained enough. She was in many ways a diamond in the rough. Any other day, he would hate to go head to head with her in this state, it did not feel fair. With wounds on his body, though, it might just become fairer. What his lifetime of training gave him, might be hindered through those. And yet, he knew she had more honor and integrity than half of them. Where she got it from, he had no idea. And this was not the moment to question it. They were the last two standing.
“Before we do this, I have one final request to make.” He knew she didn’t have to grant it. But he had to try. “In this fight we decide the fate of so many people. Should I go down now, I refuse to go down knowing I have not tried my all.” And this was a simple thing, really. “We are fighting this fight to determine life or death for our people. But all clans, every single one of them, have people in them who never asked for any war between any of the clans. They asked to see another day, to grow and thrive in a world holding promise and a future for them. The children, of all the clans, they are innocent in all of this. So before we fight, Okteivia kom Skaikru, in case of my loss, I ask of you, make room in the bunker, for the children of my clan, of any clan. They never asked for any of this.”

head tilting slightly, ash stares at her for a moment. it’s obvious that he’s thinking hard on what he means to say. “cat not safe,” he gestures to the cub at his feet so she wouldn’t try and touch it. the jaguar cub may have been cute, but its claws were sharp. and ash’s english was pretty basic.

Their plan had worked and as he leaned over his hands on his knees and his breath wheezing in and out of him he felt comfortable that it had been a good one. Looking up he flicked the hair out of his eyes with a fast flip of his head, searching for Octavia. She had been fighting two people the last time he’d seen her and although he trusted her to have finished them off he wanted to make sure that she wasn’t wounded. The plan had hatched slowly in the back of his mind after Clarke had come up to him asking if he could be Luna for the commander position. It had hurt to look at her, to see the betrayal and broken promises in her eyes to see her disbelief. He hadn’t replied and had instead thought of another Skaikru. Another warrior. Someone who understood his world and the politics that came along with it. His encounter with Bellamy had done nothing but reaffirm his belief in it.
More than that was the time they had spent working together in Polis, and while he was angry that she had lied, he could understand her reasoning, he could understand her justification. She had played the game and she had convinced him. She had played the game and convinced all the other warlords that one of their equal had fallen asleep and never woken up. She was smart. Roan had been looking for her during the entire conclave, the plan stewing in the back of his mind through his fights and he hadn’t seen her, not until the end. Not until it was just Luna. The plan had been simple, they would work together, they would shape the clans into something both of their people could abide by. Azgeda and Skaikru. Spotting her in the distance Roan swung his sword in a circle in his hand flicking the blood off of it as he got closer. “You’ve finished then?” The fleimkeepers would not wait forever, they would have to be fast to get to the top of the tower before they discovered what the two of them were up too.

“aunt o---” athena carefully crawls up onto the older woman’s lap, being extra cautious of the swollen stomach that made sitting space rather limited. a book is tugged up with her, battered and almost falling apart after so many years on an unforgiving earth. “can you read to us?” and by us, she very much does mean herself and the unborn baby.

“ Hey, beautiful. Care for a run? I’ve some free time to spare and I heard there’s some good spots for pictures. You’re victim number one, sorry, O. I don’t make the rules. “
“shit, you’re hot”
@strisis // OCTAVIAHe’s toughened up so much since they landed on the ground. His arms, once soft, now broad and muscled. He hadn’t even realized it was happening really, it was just a byproduct of the life they had to live now. Strength had always favored him but the more he used it, the more refined the skill became, and apparently, it manifested visually in his body. His body, which was now exposed as he jumped into the lake not far from camp. Risky, he knew, the last time Octavia had done this, when they first got to the ground, she had been attacked. Something about her words and the look on her face told him she wasn’t thinking about that now. “Am I?” He raised an eyebrow and laughed, redness filling his cheeks as he splashed water up at her. She was the true beauty, dark hair and olive skin, somehow tan despite never having seen sun, now even warmer than she had been then. “You sure that’s not a mirror you’re looking in?” He joked, dipping back underwater so she couldn’t see him wince at his own horrible line.
