Big Star - Stroke It Noel (1978)
This short, almost baroque song was the first track on the PVC LP version of Sister Lovers that I first purchased. It’s one of the cheerier songs on the album, but there’s more than a tinge of resignation in the vocals. Noel was Noel Gilbert, violinist of the Memphis Symphony Orchestra.
I woke up with this song (this version) stuck in my head and haven't been able it get it out since.
