Learning your dog. I'm always learning with Lilly. This weekend we went on another strollerjor (urban mushing). Lilly gets really excited about this stuff and the first few hundred yards is a cluster-**ck of excited barking/yipping/nipping at the front wheel, with very little pulling. This is what finally dawned on me from this typical and normal excited mess. I need to start her right next to me with a snug leash and slowly let her pull the leash out to its extent. I can't just give her al the slack and tell her to go like I should be able too. This is a result of me not knowing what I was doing when I started playing around with mushing. Next dog (and maybe Lilly still, now that she is getting more comfortable with the pull harness) I will teach a proper "line out" command. Anyway. My new plan of starting her next to me will at the very least reduce the lack of pulling and the nipping in the beginning if not the excited barking and yipping.
