I think I left this too late per chance

(At this point I might see if I can do a wardrobe costume of either v!Drift or V!Pearl because I wouldn't need a wig and it matches my hair colour so I'll have a little look nowwww)

tbh i’m not sure i’m the best person to answer this considering. i run an aftg blog lmao. also i haven’t read rwrb in over a year but ummm i’ll try my best to explain imo

assuming you don’t know, rwrb is about the prince of england and the son of the us president (who’s also half mexican) falling in love. everything’s so fucking simplified in this book to the point where i can barely take it seriously. politics and the monarchy should not be glamorized the way it is in rwrb. democrats are not the “good guys” in american politics and the british monarchy is not full of misunderstood innocents. fuck that.

also i’m not sure how i feel about the author just going “HEY let’s ignore current issues for a minute and imagine a world where racism and homophobia doesn’t ruin people’s lives. love wins <3” idk it just rubs me the wrong way. i know people love escapism but to “forget” about these issues even for a moment seems so privileged and kinda counterproductive?? idk i could be wrong :/

i’m gonna stop my rant here but if you want to read a detailed crit of rwrb here’s a really well-spoken review. that being said i don’t think rwrb is irredeemable so if you still want to read/enjoy it i don’t really care lol
