Forget 50 shades of grey and boring, and instead think vivid colour, shape and embellishment. The interior and product designer, 42, shares the stately four-storey house, which was built from scratch, with her husband and their playful pug, Arabella. It is also the base from which Bates runs her design practice and own-brand e-boutique, selling items such as hand-painted Limoges porcelain, Artel crystal, furniture, paint, rugs and scented candles.
