Bumper Friday Preview Round-up Pt.1
I think you NEED Brad Friedel, Hugo Lloris.
Everybody needs a nemesis. Sherlock Holmes had his Dr. Moriarty, Mountain Dew has its Mellow Yellow, even Maggie has that baby with the one eyebrow….
Stewart Downing's redeployment
It may not happen against Sunderland this weekend, of course, but sooner rather than later Brendan Rodgers will carry out his threat to try the failing winger at left-back. The reason the manager is pondering such a measure is not only because of Downing's ineffectiveness in midfield but, surely, because of the dreadful deterioration in José Enrique's performances since he arrived at Anfield. Stig Inge Bjornebye, Julian Dicks, Djimi Traoré, Josemi, Jan Kromkamp and Paul Konchesky: this is the Left-Back Roll of Shame on which José Enrique now belongs. Downing has been a disappointment so far but he's unlikely to make Liverpool's problem position any worse.
To the people who want Kenny Sacked
Success does not come straight away. It takes a lot of trial and error to get everything right. £120million is a lot of money but these days you need to pay to get the players you want. Downing was a bad signing but then you look at Henderson, a good young prospect playing only his second season in the premier league. Andy Carroll, another good young prospect playing in only his second season in the premier league and has looked sharp and un-playable in some games recently, Charlie Adam, cheap signing done okay but is capable of better and has missed half of the season with injury. Enrique, another cheap singing who started off well but faded away over the second half of the season and is capable of better. People are so quick to criticize but don't look into anything with any depth. The signings have not been bad at all Downing has been the only poor signing, is 1 out of 9 that bad?
We have played well a lot of the season but failed to take our chances. There is no problem with the management. The team has performed well but just haven't scored enough goals. This has not been a successful season but it gives the club something to build on. What is going to be gained by getting a new manager who will want to change everything again?
I love this! By: KopIdol
The lighting in the bar of an exclusive, discreet Liverpool hotel casts a shadow that hangs menacingly over one corner of the room. Two Englishmen share a drink, seeking seclusion in that darkness.
