It's Hard to Break Old Habits
That same persona, mindset, and character.
It's our comfort zone, a padding, saving us from falling face first on the ground.
The way I see it, it's a defense mechanism.
But what if our defense mechanism hurts others in the process?
Not allowing others in when they try so hard to shed light and positivity onto you.
How do we go from being this old familiar individual to something completely new?
I feel like even now, there's no point considering I feel my past catching up to me.
A past with mistakes, weird triangles, and other words best left unsaid.
Even with all the progress made towards betterment, I always find myself taking two steps back because I seem to act on impulse, rather than rationale.
I'm that "arrogant", "prideful", "big-headed" mother fucker...
... according to some people.
And to be real, there's probably some truth to that.
Ehhh, sometimes I wish I could just erase the past, but life doesn't come with a "Delete" button.
Fuck it.
