TW! Mentions of drugging, mention of PTSD
Tim and Brian’s nicknames are inspired by babs or @/cryingintheclubdhmu!
Trees rushed past the windows of the truck, the quiet rumble of the truck’s engine filling the silence. Tim was sitting in the driver’s seat, one hand on the wheel while he held a cigarette in the other, keeping it close to the window to avoid getting smoke on everyone else. Brian sat in the passenger seat, overall quiet as he watched the trees rush by. You sat in the back, occasionally glancing over at Toby, who was slumped over against the window of his seat. You knew it was necessary, Toby couldn’t handle car rides, but you still felt guilt seeing him unconscious like this. You told yourself it was for the best, for everyone’s safety, which wasn’t wrong. The last time you all tried to get Toby in a car while he was awake, he started hallucinating the moment Brian began driving, and damn near hurt Tim by accident trying to get out of the still moving car. You knew PTSD was bad, but it had to be so much worse when you couldn’t remember hardly anything about the incident. You felt bad for Toby, you really, really did.
Your expression seemed to give away your guilt, as Tim spoke up to console you.
“It’s for his benefit, hun. He’d be freaking out otherwise.”
You looked away from Toby to focus on Tim, nodding at his words. He was right, of course, but that didn’t make you feel any better about Toby having to be drugged just to ride in the truck. You looked back over at Toby, contemplating putting your hand on his, but afraid that you’d wake him up. As if just thinking about it had managed to stir him, Toby shifted a bit against the window. You held your breath, hoping he was just readjusting in his sleep and not actually waking up, but that wasn’t the case. Toby slowly sat up, seemingly groggy from sleep as his eyes fluttered open. You looked nervously at Tim, and then at Brian, trying to get their attention without speaking, so that you could hopefully avoid Toby registering where he was for as long as possible. However, neither of them seemed to get the message.
Toby rubbed his eyes, brushing his hair out of his face as he began to look around, trying to figure out where he was. Once he registered the sound of the engine, he let out a soft groan.
“Awh man, a truck mission?”
His voice immediately alerted Tim and Brian as Brian whipped his head around so fast, you were shocked he didn’t have whiplash from it. You watched Toby cautiously, hoping he wouldn’t begin freaking out, although you knew that’s what Brian turned around for, to grab Toby if he started to panic. However, to everyone’s surprise, Toby just moved to lay his head in your lap, throwing his arm over his eyes. You smiled softly, gently moving your hand to play with his hair as he laid across your lap.
“You feeling okay, Tobes?”
You ask softly, gently brushing his hair to sit more out of his face as he relaxes more against your lap. So far, he hasn’t started panicking. You could tell he didn’t like being in the truck, but it seemed that covering his eyes kept him from spiraling out of control. He nodded at your question, nuzzling more into your touch. Brian, assured that Toby was stable enough for now, relaxed a bit more, and gave you a lazy smirk.
“Come on now darlin, paying so much attention to him, you’re bound to make us jealous.”
You couldn’t help but smile at Brian’s teasing, and you rolled your eyes. Toby, upon hearing Brian’s comment, flipped Brian off with a shit eating grin on his face. You couldn’t help but laugh at their behavior, finding them both amusingly stupid, in a cute way.
You feel the truck slow to a stop, and you look around. You’re still in the woods, hidden out of sight, but you all were close enough to the site to stop here. However, as you moved to open your door, Tim locked it, shaking his head.
“Just stay here hun, no reason for you to get out into all this mess, us three can handle it fine, alright?”
You frown a bit, why were you here if not to assist on the mission? However, your frown dissipates when Tim comes around the back of the truck and gives you a kiss. Suddenly, you suppose staying in the truck isn’t too bad. Brian opens Toby’s door, since they child lock it to keep him from jumping out while they’re moving, and you wave them all goodbye, waiting for them to wrap it up.
Waiting for them got boring, so you had rummaged through the truck to look for their things before moving to sit up on the top of the truck rather than inside the cab. When they came back, you had on Brian’s hoodie, had Tim’s cigarettes, and Toby’s backup goggles on your head. Brian chuckled at the sight of you in his hoodie, finding it cute how you just grabbed their things. Tim, forever the more serious of the three, immediately sighed and walked over.
“Sugar, hop down before you get hurt.”
You giggled softly, and did as he said, although literally shoving off of the top of the truck rather than climbing down safely. Luckily, Tim was there to catch you. He tried to keep a stern expression, but it really just fell through. He sighed and pressed a kiss to your lips as he held you up, letting your legs wrap around his waist.
“What? You said hop down!”
“That’s not what I meant and you damn well know it.”
Giggling yet again, you pressed another kiss to his lips, practically melting the tension out of his body. You hear Brian clear his throat beside you, and you pull away, looking over at him, already knowing where his antics were headed.
“Oh no, don’t let me interrupt, not like anyone else around here could use a kiss!”
You roll your eyes and hop down from where Tim was holding you, walking over and pressing a kiss to Brian’s lips. Man, they sure were needy as hell. Honestly, you were surprised that Toby wasn’t tugging on you wanting attention yet. You pull back, giving Brian a soft smile, to which he returns with a chuckle, before ruffling your hair. Tim takes his cigarettes back from you, and Brian takes the keys from Tim. As everyone climbs back in the truck, the three of you realize you did not bring anything to knock Toby back out, and therefore had no way to keep him calm until you got back home. However, Toby seemed to have picked up on that, and turned to you with those stupidly cute puppy dog eyes of his.
“You know, I could *click* use something else to focus on while we drive.”
He finished his sentence with a whistle, his head jerking to the side before he turned back to you. While you knew he was just trying to be flirty, he wasn’t wrong, he did need to focus on something else that wasn’t being in a car. So, you climbed up into his lap, letting your knees sit on either side of his waist as you kissed him softly. Brian muttered something, to which all you made out was “lucky bastard”, and Tim huffed out a laugh at Toby’s antics, but was happy that he wouldn’t panic while they drove home.
Your lips were on Toby’s basically the entire ride back, only breaking momentarily to breathe. Once Brian parked the truck, you finally pulled back from Toby, both of your lips swollen and your faces flushed. You hopped down from his lap, and everyone piled out of the truck. Still in Brian’s hoodie, with Toby’s goggles around your neck, you fell behind with Tim, interlocking your fingers with his while you all went back inside.
Brian mentioned needing to get something out of the truck and pressed a soft kiss to your lips, running back out to grab whatever he left. Nina, upon walking downstairs to see you all, let out a giggle.
“Damn, talk about the greed they talk about in the Bible!”
This earned a laugh from you, and a chuckle from Tim. You branched away from your partners to join Nina in the kitchen while they returned to their room, knowing good and well she probably had a million questions for you.
