Genesis of a pinboard. Started with an old frame I cleaned up, painted black, then scrubbed in silver to give it an antique look. This particular frame has a weird finish, so some of the paint wiped off even after it was dry, so I ended up with more concentrated paint in places to cover up the original dull brown. Next, I marked off the dimensions of thr interior of the frame on a piece of foam core I bought at the Dollar Tree. I cut 2 layers. Next, I trimmed a piece of Contact cork liner to fit onto the foam core. I applied it, smoothing out the bubbles. Next, I took a piece of fabric - the same bolt I've used for other Stucky boards, and covered both pieces of foam core, with the cork layer facing up. I secured the fabric with packing tape. Finally, I fit the finished board inside the frame. Normally I would secure by stapling with my staple gun, but I need to refill it and can't find the staples. So for now, I secured with more packing tape - I'll add the staples later to make the whole thing more stable and secure. So that's my process for creating a pin board using an old frame. #pinsofinstagram #pincollecting #pinboard #pindisplay #stuckypins https://www.instagram.com/p/CMKd2isF8kS/?igshid=1kuof9a7ytxtw
