an example of student logic
After group workshops today, I overheard a couple of my students gearing up for a major trashtalk session about the guy from their group who had just left because he had been so silent and hadn’t offered any comments on their drafts. I interceded before it got nasty by explaining that that particular guy is very unsure of himself so they should excuse his quietness.
Both students looked bewildered and shared a Glance that told me something my oldness was preventing me from seeing was afoot.
“But he was wearing Patagonia,” said one student. “How can you be unsure of yourself while wearing Patagonia?”
So.
