hi, I'm AT. I would like to request a free reading if it's still available. Can I know how to improve my focus span cause I have a lot of troubles dealing with it. Even though have no external distractions, a lot of time my mind is overloaded with thoughts and ideas, or just take a long time to focus. This issue probably pose threat to my study so I want to understand the pattern of my unfocusing. Thank you for your reading 💞
Hi AT!
It sounds like you're describing ADHD (I have it too)! Depending on where you are in the world, if you have access to and the ability to get a diagnosis, you might uncover options that will significantly improve the quality of your life.
If that is not an option for you, then I can give you some of my own personal tips.
If, before you start an activity, you find your mind very busy and full of details: budget an additional 15 minutes for yourself, and then just write it all out. If you know it takes you more time to get your brain in gear, then plan on giving yourself that extra time ahead of time!
Pick a physical area to study/focus in, and then only do that there. This will be your Study Spot, and if you maintain that boundary, over time you will train your brain to understand that when you are physically in this one location, you are only engaging in this specific activity. If you catch your mind wandering, get up and leave that spot until you're ready to try with a calm brain again.
Alternatively/additionally, you can set up the same sort of area where the only thing you do there is let your brain go wild for a certain amount of time. Some people have worry chairs, or thinking spots. Same idea.
Try making use of fidget toys- sometimes having a secondary thing for your brain to focus on while you study can help you stay on task. I like small ones which will fit in my hand.
You can try exercising before you study. When you're trying to train a puppy, it can be hard for them to listen to you because they have so much energy and excitement. So, best practice is to make the puppy tired so it's easier for it to listen. Treat your brain like the puppy.
Make sure you're getting enough sleep, and go on a 30 minute walk each day- outside is best. You can break the walk time up into sessions too if you need to.
Set a timer and do X minutes of studying, and then allow yourself a short break where your brain can go into monkey mode.
Practice meditating. It can be hard at first, but that is why it's called practice. A good one to start with is to count backwards from 100 to 0. If you mess up, start over. This alone will help you get a better grasp of your ability to focus.
And I'll pull some cards...
SEVEN OF PENTACLES + TWO OF WANDS IN REVERSE + FOUR OF PENTACLES IN REVERSE
Oh, so very many messages.
First, reflect on the ways in which you coped in the past. Are you proud of them now? If not, what would you need to change so that you could be proud of yourself now? Thinking years down the line, in what way do you want to be proud of yourself? In what way do you want to overcome your challenges? What is your idea of "making it"? It is good to have a very clear understanding of what your end goal is.
Remember, this time in your life is one where you are laying the cornerstones to your future. You are going through an intense period of growth, so be cognizant both of who and what you want to grow into. Not only that, but be aware of what you need in order to grow. Pretend you are a house plant. Have you grown too big for your pot? Are you being overwatered, or not watered enough? Are you getting enough light? Sometimes, analyzing your needs and situation through a lens like this can help open your ideas to solutions to problems that seemed difficult and complex at first.
Remind yourself of your goal and your direction on a daily basis if you need to. While you're getting ready in the morning, you can tell yourself this out loud. Some of your obstacles may require creative solutions, and remember that it isn't stupid if it works for you.
Be open to finding a study group or buddy, something that can help hold you a bit accountable with your studies.
And- set boundaries! Such as the type of boundaries in the above examples, of "In X spot I only study and nothing else." But, this includes boundaries around your basic necessities. There are some things you cannot compromise on in order to keep your mind and body working optimally.
H3llo, may I have a love reading? Or a reading about my education? Thanks!
As I am most certainly procrastinating on everything at the moment, I’ll do both! For both, I’ll do “what to do+how it will turn out”
Love-
What to Do: Strength - This card often refers to mental strength rather than physical strength, so stay confident in yourself and know that love is within reach, but it won’t come without some effort from you. If you are in a relationship, remember you will have to put energy into it to get energy out of it
How it will Turn Out: Page of Cups - This card has a sense of childishness to it. It often symbolizes a happy relationship when in the context of love, possibly with someone younger than yourself, if only by days. Overall, it’s a good sign
Studies-
What to Do: 8 of Wands - Things may seem uncertain at the moment, and you are most likely waiting for someone else’s decision. In regards to studies, this may refer to a college or uni application or it could be something altogether different. Be patient, and things will turn out right.
How it will Turn Out: Strength - Again, mind over matter. In regards to the future, and especially studies, I interpret this as a good sign. You will most likely be very happy with where you’re at and where you’re going, but remember to always keep working!
