STUDIO @620
By Stephen Palladino and Hunter Payne
“Some of the most creative people are also some of the strangest,” says Mieux Magazine. “Hunter Payne seemed to prove my theory on that.” Vessel Collective says “St. Petersburg-based artist, Hunter Payne, is the most kind, resourceful, enthusiastic, and oftentimes outlandish person you will ever meet. His drawings are humorous and remind you of how mundane and funny the world we live in can be.” In 2013 Hunter collaborated with LA transplant originally from New York, Stephen Palladino, painting the lower portion of this wall for St. Pete’s Studio @620 on 1st Ave. S. With work described as loose, raw, and expressive, Palladino filled the upper half of the wall with his distinctive linear style creating portraits formed from long continuous lines. The stark contrast in values and styles of the two portions speaks remarkably well to the mission of the studio, bringing together a diverse group with interests across the arts. @goodandshiddy @thestudioat620
