Returning to the work of Luis Barragán . . . beautiful use of colour, natural light & sculptural form. Winner of the Pritzker Prize 1980, inspirational words from his acceptance speech,
“I have devoted myself to architecture as a sublime act of poetic imagination. Consequently, I am only a symbol for all those who have been touched by beauty. The words Beauty, Inspiration, Magic, Spellbound, Enchantment, as well as the concepts of Serenity, Silence, Intimacy and Amazement, all these have nestled in my soul. Though I am fully aware that I have not done them complete justice in my work, they have never ceased to be my guiding lights.”

032 Maude Terrace Walthamstow
*UNDER CONSTRUCTION*
Ground floor house extension to provide an enlarged kitchen, dining and sitting area with new shower room and utility space. The existing chimney breast has been removed and new openings created to provide extended living space to the north, to accommodate the new kitchen area, and a new connection to the garden with large bi-fold doors to the south. The placement of additional windows are located to draw your eye through the space and aligned on key circulation axis from the front to the rear of the property to ensure continual connection with the garden. Two large roof lights located above the kitchen provide valuable natural light. The rear of the property at first floor level has been remodelled to provide a larger family bathroom and a well proportioned double bedroom. This proposal was granted under Permitted Development Rights via Prior Approval of a Proposed Larger Home Extension. The project is due for completion summer 2017.
034 Temporary Railway Platform Ramsbottom
Design and construction of a temporary railway platform and signage along the East Lancashire Railway. This heritage steam railway continues to operate as a visitor attraction between Bury and Rawtenstall. The 52m curved temporary platform was required for a bespoke wedding venue and designed using a proprietary scaffold system. Photographs courtesy of Zen Photographic.
036 Barnside Close Walmersley
Pre-planning application for a contemporary brick house extension to enlarge the kitchen, dining and utility area. The new layout is centralised on a new opening to the east in order to provide a direct connection to the garden, with a large skylight above flooding the space with natural light.
