Oh those eyes. I still remember meeting Escher for the first time. He was a scruffy little ruffian sitting behind a refrigerator. There was no way to reach him and he looked at us very directly, assuring us he knew that too. How things have changed. It has taken years but still each day there is progress. Now he walks straight up to me and with a meow let me know it is time for play or for pets. Maybe one day soon he will sit on my lap or - grasp- let me pick him up.
