The First Lecture of the Semester. The first of many.
Tuesday September 15th, 2020
I still cannot sleep. What is on my mind. That’s right I have to call my workplace for more shifts and a change of availability! Which always stresses me out making phone calls and emailing the college in the first week of school, in an abyss of questions and emails for reassurance for the next 14 weeks.
My days seem to start with toast and eggs while rushing to reach my 9 am lecture for the day. I took a cup with me. I’m grateful that I stockpiled on tea and coffee for the next year or so.
I always have a positive attitude and judgment for the professor that I would be working with for the semester, and making sure to cover all my questions, documents, and preparation that I made the day before, it came in handy.
My first lecture of the day was working with a student with diverse abilities, students who would have disabilities (physical, mental, and learning). My teacher provided a self-learning environment and recorded the first and only lecture for the semester. So I am here now, writing the journal of my mundane days of studying, to you. But I wouldn’t regret spending my time any other way.
After I finished my lecture, I decided to make a pot of tea and make more coffee. I of course had to clean the kitchen and made sure that I was prepared for the contents in the next lecture, I have lunch after this, and I would be rather hungry.
I prefer morning lectures, as it gives me an advantage. I have more time for the rest of the day to review and reflect on the content. Having coffee to refill myself serves some pride and I am almost done paying tuition and I got a surprise additional money from my college. Hopefully, my email about my academic scholarship can be notified by the 2nd week of school.
I decided to have my pasta again for lunch. After my lecture, I’ll exercise or go for a run. Due to my wisdom tooth surgery, I was not able to exercise as I would cause the bleeding to be worse. At least I’ll be able to sleep more soundly tonight. At least. Anyways, I wonder how tomorrow will be lots to do as that seemed to be the theme persistent throughout my days.
My mother called to remind me that I still had to wash my hair as it still needed to be braided before work. During my lectures, I took the liberty of calling my workplace and dentist to allow myself to get some questions out of the way. I believe that these tasks really took my mind off things for the day.
My evenings were filled with endless organizing, researching, and planning as my more relaxed days of school were coming to an end, and the real work begins.
I wish you adieu my friends, it's going to be one rough semester.
Sincerely,
The Study Bunny
