The ladder was originally a staircase, traversing from ouranic clouds to crossroads to chthonic kraters. It was at times a chariot drawn by horses, commanded by the Gods of the Between. It was a spine; it was my spine; it was the spine of the world. It was a dragon without end; it was Hekate's sigil emblazoned in the sand and on the backs of her followers. It was Jacob's ladder and the Tree of Life and a transgressor, a way between Being and Non-Being. Perception is ever-changing, never constant, and full of lies. The ladder is all these things and ever more.
