My year.

My yeargroup in medicine had school leavers and graduates. 40 year old parents. People with disabilities. People with health problems, mental or physical. People of all shapes and sizes. People with facial piercings and funky hair. An lgbtq community. People who went to private school and people who went to comprehensives. Some who grew up rich and some who grew up poor. People from every corner of the globe. People of many religions. People for whom English was not their first, or even second, language. They are all doctors now.

Don’t let anybody tell you there is no place for people like you in medicine.
