Anteeksi... - Excuse me..
“ Anteeksi, voisitteko hieman väistää? “ “ Excuse me, could you move over a little bit? “
Anteeksi... - Sorry...
“ Anteeksi, että rikoin lempi kahvikuppisi. “
“ Sorry I broke your favourite coffee cup. “
Pyydän anteeksi (jostakin)... - I apologize (for)
“Pyydän anteeksi, että olin niin typerä.” “I apologize for being so foolish.”
Kiitos - thank you

“ Thank you for remembering! “
Kiitos - please ( jooko )
“ Laittaisitko kahvikupit pöydälle, (kiitos)?”
“Could you put the coffee cups onto the table, please?”
ATTENTION: this form is seldom used in Finnish. Usually we say jooko as in “ would you please?” or then we just nicely ask with the conditional form for someone to do something. :)
for e.g. “Laittaisitko kahvikupit pöydälle, jooko?”
