feeling a little bit sentimental so i dug up my Special Box and rediscovered the two oikage zines i wrote for!! and all the merch that came with them. i took a bunch of photos of the books and things so i can talk about them a little here
i love these zines to pieces you won't even believe and to this day, i still can't believe the folks over at the oikage zine hq let me be a part of it. thank you forever lin and xy <333
here are some of the merch pieces, like prints and charms. the admins of the zine even left me a personal note in that little envelope behind the prints!
my personal favorite is the fake polaroid photo with a transparent background that you can take with you on your adventures. here it is with a plain and a skyrim background LOL
these were the two books, "the story of us" and "and we still have miles to go," where i wrote my pieces tears you've let fall and Belly Laugh respectively
i took more videos but tumblr won't let me post them so i'll just leave it at this sdfjdsk i may post them in a reblog or something? not sure
anyways that's all lol just felt like sharing because i haven't seen these in a while ehe
So, my oldest kiddo is getting ready to go to college, if you can believe it! It’s been, largely, a disappointing experience—hard as a parent to watch. He’s only 16, perfect SAT/ACT in Math, blah blah blah activities, blah blah. Huge introvert. Violinist. 13/707 in his class. Whatever. He’s mostly gotten rejected, and really just naively aimed too high, even though his friends applied to many of the same places. MIT was his top pick. He’s planning to go to Purdue, which we honestly are excited about, as his parents both went there :) No merit money, nothing—which is another shocking story—just trying to figure out the *how* is a nightmare.
Well, he got on the waitlist at Cornell and Northwestern, which means he has, most likely, another rejection there. And yet, *somebody* gets off the list. So, I’m asking—what do people do in this situation? What extra stuff do they submit? Does sending anything extra even matter?
I was basically a first-gen college student myself, child of a secretary and a high school dropout, still paying on my own loans. I would’ve never realized that people hire consultants for their kids to help them prepare to apply. It’s utterly another world to me, and I feel like I failed my kid, even though we’re excited about Purdue for him and it’s a good fit.
You GUYS I know this is gonna sound stupid but I read this incredible fic months ago and bookmarked it in my browser as “Comment on this asap” and then my stupid browser ATE THE LINK and I feared it was lost forever, but I FOUND IT TONIGHT and I was able to reread it and comment and most importantly BOOKMARK IT and I’m just... so happy. <3
...no art or writing happened tonight but I don’t even care, personal fic rediscovery quest complete. <3

Basically, what this means is that if you donate to my Ko-Fi, you’re entitled to request something from me—as long as it falls under one of the things I listed in the image attached to this post. The length will vary, of course, on the amount paid, but for as low as one cup of coffee, you’ll get something for sure.
An important note: I don’t claim to be an expert of any of the services I offer. Please check my Carrd for samples of my previous work and details on my experience and skill level. The Carrd also contains all of the accounts I have where you can contact me should you have any questions. Thank you, and have a lovely day! ‘v’
