Was it hard for him to train his pet nightstalker?

it wasn't hard to train it not to attack him, but it was extremely difficult for him to train it not to attack other people so for the first few years he had to keep them away from civilization, holed up in whatever shelter he was using outside of settlements and outposts at the time

after a while though they mellowed out and he was able to condition them only to attack on command, and cease attacking just as easily like a guard dog

it helped that nightstalkers have abnormal intelligence

cybernetic wasteland sniper would carry around the gobi campaign scout rifle up until the point that he loses it on the cottonwood cove sniper's nest mission, and then later a standard silenced sniper rifle (with the carbon fiber stock kit) and the sleepytyme model 10mm SMG

possibly also the Infiltrator, for certain missions, but he'd probably only carry one or two guns at any one time since he wouldn't want to be weighed down out sneaking through the desert

cybernetic wasteland sniper's robotic eye is actually a miniaturized version of a Mister Gutsy sensor orb

I mean, if General Atomics was already making medical robotics (see, Mister Orderly models in Big MT) it stands to reason that they'd also get into prosthetics, especially considering how the war was dragging on towards the end (Yangtze, Anchorage, lots of crippled soldiers) and what better way to do that then repurposing tech that they'd already perfected

cybernetic wasteland sniper, in order to get visual contact with certain targets and infiltrate certain areas of operation, would learn how to disguise his visible and distinct deformations and cybernetics

eyepatch over his replacement robo-eye, rad-sore makeup over the sub-dermal armor overgrowths, that sort of thing, in order to make it more difficult for people to start talking about him and pinning down a certain look for him

after all, in his line of work the last thing you want is a reputation
