6. What’s your favourite piece of dialogue you wrote this year?
i think i’ve said this to you before, but the australia fic has some of my favourite dialogue i’ve ever done. i don’t know what happened to me in that one, it just flowed, i felt like you. i think my favourite part is this:
“It’s- fine. Yes.” Katya makes a noise in the back of his throat that Trixie fully ignores. “That’s hot, in a would bookmark the video on Pornhub way. Not in a let’s risk actual Australian jail way.”
“You’d let me jerk you off?” Katya fucking banshee-shrieks.
Trixie clamps his hand over Katya’s mouth, and immediately regrets it when the wet heat of his tongue licks a long stripe across the meat of Trixie’s palm. He goes snowblind for a second and has to close his eyes again and swallow roughly. “I would. But I am not super into voyeurism. Or like, seventeen years hard labour in the Outback.”
“I think I got laid in the bathroom at The Outback one time,” Katya says, and then bites Trixie’s palm. He whines without thinking through the consequences, and both of Katya’s eyebrows lift. “But okay. Yes. You’re right, Tallulah. I’m not trying to have a threesome with this fuckin’ Easter Island head.”
7. What’s your favourite piece of description or narration?
i already answered this one, but i’m gonna pull something from bigfoot just for you my beloved:
Trixie has circumnavigated the store while she’s waited for Katya to get done talking to the guy, and she comes back to touch her fingers to Katya’s bent elbow and say her name very quietly and urgently. When they first met, Katya repeated Trixie’s name back to her and cracked it in half over her knee like a glow stick, and Trixie added an extra syllable to hers. Kah-tee-yuh. She likes the way that it sounds, especially when Trixie is getting annoyed or whiny.
“Okay, just a minute,” she says back calmly, as if she were trying to placate a child.
Katya thanks the guy at the register again and gestures with her head for Trixie to lead the way out of the store. She’s getting kind of stompy, so Katya trails a couple of steps behind on the way back to the motel. Trixie’s hands are balled into fists at her sides, but she’ll be okay once she eats a few Oreos and changes into her pajamas.
