My inspirational  South African fashion blogger, Trevor Stuurman

I chose Trevor Stuurman as my South African street style fashion blogger because he does not only cater for street style but he can accommodate and open-minded to other styles. Although, what had inspired me about him was the fact that he is proudly African onto his work and his social media platforms by trying to incorporate African elements to his style and work and on to modern day streetwear; and this is witnessed such as adding African attire and background for instance.

Trevor Stuurman Bio (Superga n.d.)

Trevor Stuurman is a 24-year-old photographer, creative director and fashion expert who has created a reputation for himself within the fashion industry both behind and in front of the camera. In 2012, Trevor was ambitions, driven and focused which effortlessly landed him the Elle Style Reporter title for his expert documentation of South African street style.

Since then he’s gone on to show his work around the globe and has been invited to shoot street style looks at Pitti Uomo 89. With his Honours degree in Motion Picture and Live Performance, he has completed a documentary in which he co-directed named Ubuhle Besintu, which follows the journey of the world-renowned knitwar designer Laduma Ngxolo (Superga, n.d.). In 2015, he was the Autumn Winter face of Woolworths and this year continues as trends consultant to the brand.

Trevor has been featured in House and Leisure’s 2014 Rising Star, the Mail & Guardian Top 200 Young South Africans 2015, and Destiny Magazine’s The Power of 40 List. He is has been given the title GQ Best Dressed Man in 2015 and South African Style Awards 2015 Next Big Thing. Recently, he was the keynote speaker at the Sunglasses Hut Reflections Fashion Forum 2016 and invited to participate as a judge for the South African Fashion Week New Talent Search 2016.
