I know you want to prove yourself but what happened to living a bit before that?” Her grandfather said as he watched Bina pace in her heels, with creases in her forehead. After their alliance agreement with Archiac she took it upon herself to rearrange assets when she noticed an unknown account holder talking money from the main. Now she needed to figure out how to fix things. “Please remember we do not kill our blood…”

Bina looked at her grandfather and her face immediately softened, going to the old man and placing a kiss on his cheek. It was obvious that the sudden change worried him but she had reassured him time and time again she has always had this side, only realizing the old her needed to die. “I have a plan grandpa okay? I just got to make a call.”

“It is to that dog? My child I love you but that man, I still want to cut off his head. I’m old but I have bite!” She laughed at his empty threats giving him one more smooch to soften his our heart, “I’m fine and I put it in the past and you should to. So no more glares okay!” Calling out to him as she head out to the living room leaving her grandfather to nurse his medicine tea. 

It would be over two weeks since she had actually talked to Seungcheol since at the meeting she had hardly given him the time of day. But now Bina had to put on her big girl pants and call her best friend, she has missed him. The phone went to her ear and it rang about three times before it was answered, “You better not be asleep because I need your help.” Bina was already grabbing her coat as she stood by the door, “A viper needs its head cut off and I think you are the man for the job of assisting me. And besides, I need a driver.”

A few muddleheaded punks and ecstatic bystanders circle the two fighters, many betting on one or the other, while a few stand out as prime supporters for their combatant. “Take his head!” One screams in war battle cry fashion. Yoo had missed the thrill of spectating prize fights, often throwing a couple thousand of won along to bring up a pot. In respect to the arena’s rules, only a hand-to-hand battle will take place, with any possible or clear weapons landing an instant disqualification. Yoo has his money on the African-American, having little interest on the Korean Wu-style master monkey. Yes, it starts with quick jabs from the kickboxer, before he sweeps the opponent to his back. Of course, a quick rebound and a counter strike leverages the game in favor of the Asian. They go back and forth, only a few people muttering while many more view the live Tekken fight. There! The nose-bloody kickboxer lands a square kick to the man’s torso into a jumping punch to meet hand, head, and floor. Boos and cheers intermingle as the referee raises the champion’s hand. Words fly out, “Cheat!” Others rebuttal, “Nah, it was clear as day, he fuckin’ sucked.” A few accept, “There goes my reputation.” While the rest humbly whisper their thoughts to nearby spectators. Ji Chul takes a moment to appreciate the scene, gallantly striding to his winner and shaking his hand, “Damn, well done. Good fight,” speaking perfect English for the congratulations.

12. What makes your muse happy?

       Ahreum is actually a very simple person and is usually in high spirits, despite looking a tad bit too serious. Perhaps it comes with her old age. She’s especially happy helping other people and doing small, thoughtful things such as buying coffee for her co-workers on a busy day. 

13. Something that makes your muse uncomfortable.

       There are actually quite a few things that makes her uncomfortable. And I could make a very long list of it. But the main thing would be confined places. Since escaping from her clan, she likes open spaces. So whenever she is in a confined space where there isn’t much room to breathe, she feels queasy and the urge to run away.

wolfsbane & hemlock

for the fifteenth time in just as many minutes, wonwoo fiddles with the hem of his shirt, slightly chapped lips tracing against the worn grey cotton of it as he nibbles at his thumb in a perpetually nervous gesture. the sky is pinkening at  the edges, purple watercolour intermingling with blue as the sun begins to drop just below the horizon. despite himself, he can’t help but watch the display of it from just above the wired rims of his glasses, lips slightly parted in awe as he waits. another minute ticks by. 

he doesn’t hear the car as it pulls up near the teahouse, though he spots it in his periphery, the gears smooth and silent in a way that feels distinctly disconcerting. it’s a nice car, a sleek black number with windows tinted so dark that his self-preservation instincts thrum softly between his clavicles, kicking into high gear. he wants to laugh, honestly, feeling inexplicably like he’s a side character in some cheesy bond film, especially when the driver ( a man with dark eyes and a stern expression ) steps out to hold the door open for him. the small, polite smile he sends the man’s way, expectantly, isn’t returned, and he feels the hysteria begin to bubble deep in his throat as the door closes with a soft click, and the full brunt of his situation begins to sink in. 

for the seventh time since that morning, he curses his eccentric master’s nearsightedness, teeth worrying at the corner of his lower lip as he watches the driver through the mirror. the witch known currently as geumsaseum was on one of his many extended ( and needlessly secretive ) excursions, a common thing really, and nothing to be wary of. except for the funny little bit where he had pointedly dropped off the face of the planet for going on three weeks now, leaving his apprentice in charge of keeping his shop running - and his clients, consequently, happy. 

( his potentially dangerous clients, wonwoo reminds himself, his thoughts racing around a memory of his master cheerfully recounting the carnage evoked by the previous choi gang head. fucking werewolves. ) 

wonwoo is suddenly yanked from his thoughts as the door is pulled open, and he almost comes tumbling out onto the pavement. though his reflexes keep him righted. ( i should have let it happen, he thinks as he follows the man into the building, feeling distinctly like a sheep sent to slaughter. maybe the current clan head takes lightly to concussed witches. ) they stop in front of a simple door that is somehow both innocuous and daunting all at once, and the man gives a light nod before leaving him to do the honours. with a calming breath, he pushes open the door.

— “Hey I never said it was a bad thing. Remember you are talking to the queen of crazy.” Bina went off on a tangent after Seungcheol described his plans for his family and how to run things. It was already obvious from the gossipers at home but to hear it from him was stranger, but in a good way. Even in modern times there was still conflict and fear but when those actions were not coming from her friend, it was nice.

There have been other Alpha’s she had known in the past wanting to use her family for their produce of venom and trying to obtain it with threats and  words of death but that hadn’t been the case with Seungcheol. “This is why we are so close, we know each other is crazy.” Smiling wide.

1. what does your muse’s bedroom look like?

wonwoo’s room is needlessly tidy, though one corner of it is charred black from a particularly unsuccessful spell that he sometimes charms spotless around company but keeps as a testament to his skills. ( his landlady hadn’t been particularly pleased, but he just felt relieved knowing the fire alarm was functional. ) he has a mattress flat against the floor, which itself is elevated from the rest of the room by a few inches, with a crisp white duvet and comforter. there’s also a decorative cat post by the wide glass window which happens to be his primary source of light - he has no overhead lights, just two dim floor lamps.

2. their best pick up line.

“um - there was this mollusk, and he walks up to this sea cucumber. normally, they don’t talk, sea cucumbers, but in a joke everyone talks. so the sea mollusk says to the cucumber…” ( in honour of finding dory’s release. he is as awkward with pick up lines as marlin is with jokes. )

5. how old was your muse when they had their first kiss?

five. kindergarten is hard on a little boy’s soul, especially when a very headstrong little girl with pigtails and a terrifyingly determined expression declares the two of them husband and wife and plants a loud kiss to his lips before promptly requesting a divorce just before snack time because the boy from the red table has strawberry pudding. to be fair, he would have divorced her for the same reason.

9. the best thing they could cook.

he makes a mean bowl of cereal and a brilliant piece of toast, just as long as the toaster is fool-proof and has a fail-safe for any possible kitchen mishap to ever possibly occur. ever. in the history of the world. please do not let this boy near the kitchen.

10. what their drinking habits are.

wonwoo has alarmingly poor alcohol tolerance, for the most part, though he does enjoy a few drinks, at least around his mates. his inclinations usually fall in the realm of the stronger, harder liquors, enjoying the sting of them as opposed to something he can actually handle. he’s a very tactile and affectionate kind of mess when he drinks. someone please watch out for him.

11. your muse’s favorite weather.

wonwoo is inexplicably fond of thunderstorms. the more tumultuous, the better. he enjoys the succinct and sharp claps of thunder that break apart the white noise of a particularly heavy downpour. sometimes, he’ll sit out on his front steps just letting the cool touch of it smooth down his skin, reveling in the contrast of it against the thrumming magic that hums just below in his veins. this is the kind of weather that spurs his magic on the most.

12. what makes your muse happy?

many small tidbits in life make him happy. he’s fond of the smallest miracles, the short but poignant bits of happenstance like sales on strawberry milk when he’s craving it at the grocery store or finding money in his jeans, even just a few won.

What does your muse’s bedroom looks like.Soyi likes it neat, clean and simple, her bedroom might as well be straight out of an Urban Outfitters photoshoot. White walls with a few small prints of her favorite paintings here and there, lots of blankets and pillows in soft colors on her bed to lose herself in. A small army of cacti guards her bed as they are neatly aligned on a narrow shelf, a few loose papers are spread here and there, accompanied by one or two magazines. Dirty laundry cannot be found often as she prefers to immediately throw them into the laundry basket. Soyi doesn't have any particular preferred color for her interior life, she keeps it soft and light with a spark of color here and there. The worst nightmare your muse has ever had.Every night before sleep Soyi casts a spell on herself in order to have a dreamless night, she only developed this habit upon realizing that she dreams real, actual things happening in the world and often wakes up to news of things she has seen in her dreams before. She doesn't remember any particular bad dream standing out to her and prefers not to dwell about it anymore.
