Am I the only one that noticed before alma wore the red dress?
this week's video discussing style theft is now live!!
There are so many popular artists who are well into their adult years who are so insecure about younger artists. Tracing/copying is wrong but the idea of becoming threatened by "style theft" is... kind of childish.
It's one thing if you don't really feel like sharing a certain technique you do. Not every artist is responsible for teaching the next generation of artists and no one is obligated to make tutorials. But to be rude towards beginners asking innocent questions is really shallow, especially when many of the popular artists who are adults react this way towards teenagers.
If you're a popular artist who is insecure enough to worry about style theft, you need to take a good hard look at yourself and ask why you feel the need to react this way.
Deadass I can’t stand artists who get all uppity about people “stealing” their “style”. Like dude unless you popped out of the womb drawing the way you do now you’ve been influenced by other artists lol. Every art style is just multiple other styles crammed together in a way we like. Shut the fuck up about someone “copying” you because they drew with heavy lines or some shit! Unless someone’s very clearly copying your exact style I don’t give a shit.
