apparently I'm way better at playing star rail than I've ever been at genshin......should have guessed but I'm still in shock ngl

#i say should have guessed cause the turn based games are just more my stylr #style*#my best friend sent me that one page where i can see all my progress bc he wanted me to check a thing #and i realized i could see my genshin stats there too so i checked #i haven't played genshin in way over a year so my memories of what i was doing are foggy at best but #apparently i played it well over twice the total time i played star rail and my general lvl is half of my hsr one?#how #my character levels and builds are all over the place too....#and my luck in it was abysmal as well compared to my hsr luck I'm shock #im like Absolutely sure rolled way more in genshin than i ever did in hsr since I've been stacking tickets in hsr since i started #playing again #which means I've only ever rolled on the gen gatcha every time the game gave me ten tickets itself #but i have a ton of characters more in hsr?? a lot of double and triple copies? three 5* charas aside from the mc already??#i got march like five times #i never rolled one 5* in genshin how is this possible #I'm sure the rates are the same....#it can't be bc when i played genshin there were more characters than there are in hsr already #like even if that were the case it should just mean i have more characters and less copies right?#instead i have no characters and no copies what kind of joke is this what did i even use to roll #no I'm shocked cause playing hsr i always have a feelings im way further back than i was in genshin back when i played but #turns out I'm thrice as far ahead in half the time licherally how

for the AI art thing I think it’s not only about artists losing work but also about how that art requires work in the first place, like the process of creating a piece of art is in and of itself worth more than the end result. A child making a piece of art is a reflection of them developing their individuality and using imaginative thinking, along with the time, skill, and problem solving involved in making something new. And it’s cool that the dad is sharing a way to make similar art with their kid, but it’s much different than, say, sitting with your kid and making art alongside them.

mm i can understand that. my read wasn't that the point was to go "hey, look, the AI can do art just as well as you can, i do not value your effort and you should stop drawing and start clicking a button" but moreso to be like "hey, check it out, here's how an AI interprets the kind of things you do!" i didn't read it as an invitation for the child to stop drawing but as something that plays around and transforms something the kid already made in a way that they'd find cool and fun. ofc i'd have to ask the person who made the program if i wanted to know their motivation but that was my read anyway ig.

#a lot of people just enjoy using AI for personal fun. there's a reason weird dalle generations were a big thing on here for awhile!#they aren't using it to 'replace artists' or replace the process of creating/ any of that; it can just be fun to generate stuff in your sty #style*
