Opinion on;
Character in general: I don’t think I ever truly was sympathetic to Fantine’s character for the longest time. I wasn’t particularly invested in her, and I wasn’t particularly a fan of her story. Regardless, with time just listening to the music was enough to grasp me with a new perspective… That there was extraordinary depth in this character and that there was so much emotion that could be reflected in her story. Fast-forward, and I finally found myself enlightened, for lack of a better word. Really, it’s in examining her past as a child wandering the streets- Nameless and barefoot- That I truly begin to appreciate Fantine more. It was in reading about her naivety with Tholomyes and the others that made me appreciate Fantine more. Fantine has a dark story, and it’s something of a true story. It’s great!
How they play them: Lord give me mercy, my Lady plays Fantine absolutely splendidly. In reading her writing, I can capture the pure grace and sort of radiance about her being, though she is simultaneously a woman of the streets and a woman of tragedy. In no way is this Fantine a particular martyr or a saint. She’s a woman who has lost everything, has fallen ill, would probably see something better in death though she has cause to life… Lady does a very could job of alternatively playing a skeleton and a woman whom rather seems like she stems from a pastoral painting.
The Mun: Well, fuck. You all should know that my Lady here is someone I absolutely admire and absolutely adore. We’ve spoken about every day for at least seven to eight months, and I couldn’t give two shits about her when we first spoke. Now i’m a critical person, and I was prepared to be bored to death by her. Boy, was I wrong! Lady is talented, intelligent, funny, and a tremendous role-player. My writing has improved ions because of her, and so my muses are directly impacted by her writing. I love her!
Do I:
RP with them: As often as I can bug her to!
Want to RP with them: All the god damn time! She and capitalr are some of my favorite texting roleplay saviors in the middle of a fifteen hour school day or something.
What is my;
Overall Opinion: Lady is capable of gifting her characters incredible depth and fantastic complexities. She’s a genuinely sweet person, and is very much genuine to her characters- Her understanding of characters is not limited to fictional people; she understands people far better than I do, and I truly admire her!
**Note: Mun’s answer are all to be completely honest. Don’t send url if you don’t want brutal honesty
Well! You see, I already roleplay a character who uses Eddie Redmayne as the FC. Sometime during roleplaying that character, I decided to watch Les Misérables and from there it went on to actually reading the book. Once I got around to actually comparing brick!Marius to movie!Marius, I realised, holy hells he’s just like me — That is, in the regard that when we love we love a lot.
Plus, he and I actually have very similar quirks, and characters like him are honestly the type of characters I play a lot anyway. So really, it was just a matter of time before I gave in to the temptation —
I actually have a blog for her!! I like your headcanon for the changing appearance thing, by the way. Clever. :)
ayyyyiiieeeee i just adore her so much. and thank you! it was kind of just born out of my constant desire to use 3285675 different faces and not having muse for any of them in particular. lol.
The death of Cosette -- how is she dealing with it? Oh, but she is not dealing with it. To deal with is to cope, and how could she ever? No, she does not 'deal with' Cosette's death. She mourns her -- mourns as though she will never see the sun again. She won't. She may walk in its light and it may bathe her skin, but she will not feel its warmth nor see its rays. It is too much like her child, her little girl with a sweet, sunny face. Cosette is dead -- and so too is the sun.
