Raelene was silent. A rare moment for her. Most of the time it was difficult to get her to shut up. In this case, it was her big mouth that got her into trouble, divulging information to the enemy. But it was for a good cause, at least to her it was.

She stared Finesse, tears prickling at the corners of her eyes.

“I-I’m really sorry…They…They were gonna hurt you, and— and I didn’t know what to do..!” She said in between sobs. The tentacles protruding from her back wilted and feebly flailed around. “I’m sorry I got us captured, I’m sorry I made this huge mess, I shouldn’t have—” She sniffled, “— I shouldn’t have been so careless!”

Rae brought her arm up to her eyes, rubbing the tears away. Now the enemies were approaching and preparing an attack on Avengers Academy. A few minutes of her sobbing went by until she finally composed herself enough to form a coherent sentence.

“What are we gonna do…?”

“You should have let them hurt me. I can handle it.”

Finesse twisted in her restraints, trying to find a good angle to get out. “Now, more people are in danger of being hurt and I don’t think all of them can handle it as well as I can. Stop being so sentimental.”

She glanced down, her eyes landing on a bit of wire sticking out of one of the panels on the wall, just out of her reach, but Rae might be able to grab it. “Get me that wire so I can get us out of here.”

47. My muse comes to yours after being assaulted.

Were they behind him? Were they still coming? 

Nyph’s left wing dragged behind him, some torn muscle making it painful to life. The other was clamped rather firmly upon itself, sticking out at an odd angle. The bastards just so happened to have some fishing line in their car. How did they even think to use it? The thin, strong wire cute painfully into his flesh, snapping feathers. Nyph’s good hand cradled his bad, the one that was now cracked and bleeding after landing a poorly angled punch on one of his assailants’ jaw. It was what allowed him to get away. Or, start to.

But now, he could hear them coming. A simple mugging had turned into a hate crime when they stripped him of his jacket. Terrified, Nyph located the nearest building and sprinted straight towards it. He presented his shoulder to the door and slammed straight through - it was unlocked, but he hadn’t the time or the thought to check - whereupon he slammed straight into some poor girl who had been on her way out. 

“Go, go, back inside!” he gasped desperately, wriggling past her.

Marvel needs to stop using nostalgia to sell their books, especially if they’re not going to deliver. I was going to write a whole thing on how much they  used it to generate hype for the new Venom series, but I figured people are probably sick of me bitching about it as is. Point stands though.

2. What trait does your OC like best about themself? (Eyes, guitar skills, random bird facts, etc)

Both Isabel and Eddie like their eye color, hazel and green respectively. Eddie thinks he has a cute smile, and Isabel likes her dimples.

4. Is your OC good at keeping secrets?

Yes! Both Isabel and Eddie are very good and trustworthy when it comes to keeping secrets, no matter how big or small.

6. Does your OC prefer tennis shoes/sneakers or flip flops?

Tennis shoes. Flip flops are impractical, unless for the beach. Eddie tends to wear converse, and Isabel leans towards ankle boots but would prefer tennis shoes out of the two options.

7. What is your OC’s opinion on body modifications?

Both are perfectly fine with them! Isabel has tattoos and a small nose piercing, and Eddie isn’t opposed to them at all. He has his ears pierced, but rarely wears anything more flashy that small black studs.

8. Your OC is given a full-ride scholarship to any college they could want to go to. Where do they go and what do they major in?

Isabel wouldn’t want to go to college. She’s content with where she is, at beauty school and work. Eddie would like to go to Oxford and study robotics engineering.

11. Is your OC a blanket hog?

Yes, they both are. It’s accidental, really. Neither Eddie nor Isabel really need blankets, as they’re both naturally very warm. But, they’re also both over 6 feet tall, and it happens!

50. What is your OC’s happy place?

Isabel’s is her apartment, in the chair that catches the sun rather nicely. Eddie’s is wrapped in Isabel’s bed, because he likes her comforter, and because it’s warm and cozy.
