Thank you to the Syracuse Fire Department for leading a great and involved extrication training for our SUA members! #SUAmbulance #TotalTraining #ExtricationNation (at South Onondaga, New York)
Last night Syracuse University Ambulance held its annual Banquet to encapsulate the year’s service, recognize our members, and celebrate the organization all together with alumni and guests. Thank you to our Banquet Committee, Supervisors, membership, and guests for making it such a wonderful evening! #SUAmbulance #CelebrateCollegeEMS (at Sheraton Syracuse University Hotel and Conference Center)
SUA’s own James Kontoules was one of the distinguished speakers at this weekends’ NCEMSF conference. He spoke about his field specialty of social media’s place in EMS. His presentation, Information Overload, gave an all inclusive view of positives, negatives, and uses of social media in EMS with SUA as a specific case study. Great job, James! #PublicInformationOfficerProfessional #NoFilter #SUAmbulance (at Sheraton Philadelphia Downtown Hotel)
SUA has an amazingly educational and fun weekend at the 2018 National Collegiate EMS Foundation Conference in Philadelphia. We were among the 1,100 attendees from over 200 Collegiate EMS agencies nationwide. We participated in skills competitions, attended multiple talks on a wide range of EMS topics, learned from presenters and other agencies on how to improve SUA, accepted the “EMS Ready Campus” Silver award, and explored the great city of Philadelphia. Another wonderful conference, another great year to represent SUA! #NCEMSF #SUAmbulance #LibertyRang #WeResponded (at National Collegiate Emergency Medical Services Foundation (NCEMSF))
We hope you enjoy today’s great weather as much as our shining fleet! #SUAmbulance #WinterWho #SunsOutRigsOut (at Syracuse University Ambulance)
🚨Meet our SUA Supervisor of Fleet Operations🚨: James Kontoules! James is a senior at SUNY ESF, majoring in Natural Resources Management. He has experiencing working as a wildland firefighter, and wants to be a law enforcement/emergency National Park Ranger after college. In the world of EMS, he serves SUA as a crew chief and dual trainer and will be presenting a talk at this year’s NCEMSF conference in two weeks. The Fleet Supervisor is in charge of maintenance and repair for the fleet of two ambulances, supervisor fly car, MCI trailer, and four non-emergency transport vans. Keeping the fleet in proper working order is critical to both emergent and nonemergent operations of the agency, as well as shows pride in the job. James knew SUA would be a great fit for him coming into college: “After spending 3 years in the fire service at home, I was looking to join another agency to put time into while at school, as well as getting my EMT card to be able to serve in a higher capacity than before. SUA has become more than just a job, with a group I'm proud to call my coworkers and friends. I have an immense pride for the job, and as a trainer and senior member I'm able to work to instill that same sense of pride in the next generation of SUA members.” Thanks for always keeping SUA driving forward, James! #MeetTheTeamMonday #SUAmbulance (at Syracuse University Ambulance)
🚨Meet one of our SUA Personnel Supervisor🚨: Hannah Yoo! Hannah is a Syracuse University 4th year majoring in Biology. She is a crew chief progression and driver in SUA. Her responsibilities as Personnel Supervisor are all things concerning new SUA members along with her co-Personnel Supervisor: "Courtney and I work together to find the hardest working and most dedicated individuals to bring into SUA in hopes that they will continue to keep the organization running at its best for the SU community. We also are responsible for training new members, teaching them about the organization and their responsibilities within SUA." Hannah is able to pass her huge love and gratitude for SUA onto the next generation: "Not only does SUA provide such a unique experience, SUA has become my home away from home. There are so many great people I’ve met since I’ve joined and many people are shocked that I even have friends outside of SUA. This organization has truly taken care of me and I am thankful for this great big family that I am surrounded by every day." Thanks for passing on the SUA spirit, Hannah! #MeetTheTeamMonday #SUAmbulance (at Syracuse University Ambulance)
