I have to draw gem ocs or I might die

I've been on a crazy steven universe oc design kick recently. Here's the ones I've made so far ( no promises theese aren't the first of many lol ) anyway I really don't know what I'll do with theese guys just yet... lmk what you think I should do

I wanted to make a sphire who has short hair and uses a veil to mimic the long hair saphires typically have. I also think ruby fuchsite are such a neat gem and wanted to mess with the idea of making them a gem oc :]

Im done for now but I might do this again because I had a great time making theese fellas

heres my gemsona since i saw requests were open i would love if u made red amethyst in ur style

red amethysts are basically one man armies with their ability being cloning and wlso this was done over a base so sorry but his weapon is a lil dagger like eyeball

Hey there! Nothing wrong with using a base (as long as you have full permission).

Did 2 takes, based off real gemstones! They're so pretty. Your take was based of Red Aura Amethyst and mine Red Amethyst. I'll try to break it down-

•Red Aura Amethyst:

Since it was more colorful, I picked that gem to follow your take. To me, Aura/Rainbow gems have these extra colors in hair (like Rainbow Quartz), just like your design. Except I made it orange. Kept the gemstone more colorful too.

•Red Amethyst:

Just full on red outfit and gemstone. To me, amethysts have more pale hair so I made it like that because Red Aura would remind me of a Carnelian (another reason I gave him the orange spots on the hair).

Now notes in general-

For the outfit, it didn't remind me of a quartz. Do you know the band thing they have on the chest? Placing it on the middle felt more "military" and like some sort of badge. Shorts felt weird since we haven't seen a quartz with shorts. I dunno, darker colors, spooky.

Reason I made for his eyes to be seen is because it felt cute. And by that I mean that it's related to the un-corrupted quartzes. Being able to see his expression means I can make him angry, draw shade to make him look more intimidating, that kind of stuff-

A fun note is that you can absolutely keep the brown hair, Lace Amethyst has darker hair after all AND has the spots your design has. Red Amethyst has no spots so that's why I removed them. Maybe you just didn't know Red Amethyst was a thing and added the purple (I'm just assuming here don't mind me). Chevron Amethyst is another one with markings per example!

•Like. Carnelian and Amethyst share gemstone and these are my notes:

-Brown hair red amethyst: looks like a Carnelian (even if it's not).

-Brown hair with lighter spots on hair red amethyst: an important looking Amethyst.

-Brown hair with spots on red skin amethyst: a kind of amethyst.

I uh sorry for my ramble, I tend to overthink quartzes. I hope you like it!
