Angel species designs

These are angels for my concept project, Modern Lore! It’s a retelling and a series of concept art of various mythology around the world! This is one of them! In my version of biblical mythology, angels are guides for humanity to cater the world humans are born in and guardians who ward off evil from corrupting the world into destroying what they worked on for so long. All angels have a different task to help humans depending on what rank they're in and the virtue they represent. However, they cannot change who they are because fate always seals when their decisions are set and done. Of course, this fate thing can drop upset angels who never wished to be who they are. If only they can disobey their fate when they are granted the corrupt version of free will by the devil.

That's all the things I have for angels and i’ll show y'all the angels and their various sub-species and wings!

Side note: The angel hierarchy is different from the actual one to fit the lore of my concept project. So, please take it with a grain of salt and enjoy!

Third Rank - Humanity’s Guides

Common Angel - The classic winged messengers covered in feathers and light. These are the first evolutions of all angels (except for thrones, cherubim, and seraphim) or in other cases, the mono-stage for those who just wanted to spread the word of the light to humanity. Although, they're all born white and blank at first, eventually, they'll earn their virtue and purpose to be redesigned and become who they are.

Power - The warriors in unpenetrable feathers of light steel. Every evil spirit quivers under their presence and will either flee or attempt to fight powers despite their assault being just a small scratch to the powers. Also, their natural shoulder pads are pocket dimensions that store all of their weaponry at their disposal (Similar to disassembly drones from Murder Drones except it's their entire arm).

Principality - The lesser princes that rule nations on earth and military leaders of the powers. If powers aren't enough to make evil spirits flee, then principalities will do the job for them. Given their geometric spellcaster and assertive authority, they make sure the ministry continues on earth and the nation they ruled is all that they expect, peaceful and equal.

Bonus angel: Guardian Angels - A title given to common angels who do anything to protect innocence from danger. Although they're not as scary as powers or principalities for evil spirits, they still serve as a warning for those who dare to lay a finger on an innocent. They are above common angels but below powers.

Second Rank - The World’s Caregivers

Virtue - Not to be confused with the seven heavenly virtues, these angels have control of the world’s elements, motions, and nature. Their miracles are a must-have for society as they can cater to their land with endless harvests and perfect weather. However, not all societies receive a miracle.

Lesser Archangel - A title given to any angel below their tier whose sole purpose is to bring balance and justice. Like guardian angels, they protect innocence, but evil spirits are guaranteed to flee from them and have more power over humanity psychologically. They're also representatives of the greater archangels.

Dominion - The leaders of the angels below their tier and judges of purgatory. They made sure that lower angels obeyed the rules of the light while giving them free will and silently judging everything before making conclusions. Don't be found guilty by the dominions, or else their judgment against the guilty will be more severe than just going to hell.

Bonus angel: Psychopomp - The guiding scavengers of the dead. They may be scary at first, but they are the sweetest angels a soul can meet as their purpose is to make sure a soul can rest easily in the afterlife. However, they only collect the souls of the faithful, if a soul is found sinful, they will abandon them to either roam the mortal realm in pain or be taken to the many jaws of Leviathan. They are above virtues but below lesser archangels

First Rank - The Light’s Harbingers

Throne - The chariots of the cherubim. Their hollowed bodies are armor for a cherub to fuse in and the wheels surrounding them are what float them into battle or transport. Despite them being the most emotionless angels (with the exception of a few thrones) due to the fact they're personified chariots, they can still do tasks like normal angels if they are in a simpler form where they have an actual body.

Cherub - Not to be confused with Greek puttos appearance wise, these triple-bodied angels are royal guards of the light and keepers of wisdom. Their bodies represent the lifeforms on earth, a herbivore on the left, a carnivore on the right, an omnivore on the middle, and wings that represent the flora all over. Despite their animalistic and uncanny anthro appearance, they are still friendly towards the faithful, they look like that to scare away evil spirits and sinners.

Seraph - The grand choir and pillars of the light and the rulers of all angels. They are only seen flying around the light’s throne like birds circling in the sky since they are willing to protect and cherish the light at all costs. It's best to drop everything and bow before the light when a seraph is in place, no one should know what will happen if someone aggravates a seraph.

Bonus angel: Greater Archangels - A grand title given to all angels below their tier. They are the grandmasters of both humanity and the world and role models of the faithful. There's only a handful of angels who have this title, that being the seven heavenly virtues, the horsemen of the apocalypse, obedient watchers who are given a greater role than lower-ranked watchers (aka lesser archangels and dominions), and angels who go far beyond their virtue and purpose. They are above cherubim but below seraphs.

Angel Subspecies based on the Seven Heavenly Virtues

Depending on an angel’s virtue, they can evolve to be one of these sub-species designed after the seven heavenly virtue angels. They can also have mixed virtues if one or more virtuous actions are equal. So far, the maximum is three for most mixed angels. There is no record of an angel having virtues beyond three except for the case of Samael, who is the most unique out of all angels. (Note: I haven't posted a drawing of Samael yet)

Side note: These sub-species aren't restricted to only common angels, they can be other angels! There's a bunch of variations for each sub-species and I don't want to design it because there's a lot. But hey! At least you can have fun designing things like a patience dominion or a diligence principality!

Was recently working on a sub-species for Rainworld, the Gale Deer. Its meant to be a cousin of the regular deer but meant to survive sub-zero temperatures. Its REF is nearly finished! ❄️

Sub Species inspired dice box! Weathered by me and I did the fabric too - originally from The Dice Shop Online. Two of the dice were re-inked by me too. This is inspired by my OC Shoe, who's a Junker!

in scifi, humanoids as a result of convergent evolution are all over the place, it makes sense for the setting

but what I really want to see is humanoids who evolved that way seperately in a fantasy setting

I mean like elves who came from lizards, dwarves that evolved from rodents, gnomes from a sentient race of mushrooms etc

Hatachi are a simple sub-species of the Pokemon Jirachi. They're fully open and also open to taking inspiration from considering their simplistic nature. You can turn Hatachi into other species, remove it from the Hatachi species, or turn other things into Hatachi. There is no rarity list for traits currently, either.

Hatachi can grant minor wishes that utilise psychic powers, much like Jirachi from the Wishmaker movie did with teleporting. They cannot grant actual wishes outside of this. This is due to the fact that over time as their heads evolved to be able to be destroyed and survive, the wish tags normally on their heads were being used as part of that decoy and oftentimes would be torn off or rendered unusable. Because of this, they eventually evolved to not use them for wishes anymore, losing the majority of Jirachi's wish granting abilities.

You can use Hatachi for stories however you see fit, there is no real lore for them outside how they evolved differently from Jirachi. You do not need to credit me for the species, but if you wanted you could tag the character as Hatachi. You can also link them to this listing if you wish!

Not all Jirachis with hats are Hatachi, but all Hatachis are Jirachis with hats. I do not own the simple concept of a Jirachi's star being a hat, and it's the combination of the biological features in the info guide that make a Hatachi a Hatachi. That is to say, if you simply wanted a Jirachi with a hat, I am not going to discourage you!
