Here i have rethought of what i could name the subbrand and how i want the logo to look.
I have taken visual inspiration from the current Belgium&Bues logo which uses a hexagon to encompass the name, but there are scalability issues with this because when made small, you can no longer read the words, so for my design, it was crucial that i made the letters bigger to be more easily read as a smaller size.
The typeface has been inspired by the old grey and blue logo, which uses a rusty looking typeface and have contained this within the hexagon that we see in the new style of logo. this has also been done as a visual link to the name of the sub-brand, "bottled blues" which suggests something is being contained as it is bottled, so restricting the name to the hexagon has a similar impression to this.
i have taken inspiration from traditional beer logos and labels by adding the established date and more information about the brand which will be present on the large lockup, where the words can be read.
i will now go on to explore how this might look when applied to other assets and labels.
