3D Practice: Post #1!
Going to try something I've been meaning to do for basically a year: Posts every week or two about 3D stuff. I'd like to avoid WIP posts unless I really dig the project, so this'll mostly be a bunch of smaller things or smaller "full" projects.
This weeks post is some hard surface subdivision 3D modeling practice. I typically do 20-30 minutes of 3D warm-up work most days, and each of these took a few to several hours. I am slow at this still. But they turned out okay. The connector part of the fourth model was a nightmare.
Models are based on sketches by Daniel McGowan, here's his blog post.
Let's see how this goes.
pretty amazed that my laptop that weighs less than 2 pounds can do micropoly displaced subdiv GPU renders with free open source software. In my previous life, the same feature set used to be a 40,000 machine renderwall….
