Horatio Walpole (June 1723-February 1809) Pierre Subleyras, circa 1746 oil on canvas, Leeds Gallery Leeds, West Yorkshire England UK 🏴⚖️🇬🇧 Walpole, a Whig Member of Parliament (1747-1809), later Baron Walpole (1757) & Earl of Oxford (1806) was the nephew of Sir Robert Walpole, 1st Earl of Oxford, generally regarded as the de facto first Prime Minister of Great Britain, and was the godfather of Admiral Horatio Lord Nelson, who was named after him.
