I honestly do not know why so many people are giving you shit about ignorance in America, because what you are saying is true. I've been living here in the US for the past 5 years, and I've experienced the ignorance first hand. I've been told that "Peru is in the middle east", that they didn't know there were computers in Latin America, I've been asked if I know how to use a cellphone, etc... Not all Americans are ignorant, but many are. That's all Ximena, and I, are saying.
People are taking offense to what I say because they choose to remain blind. I have been told that Peru is both in Mexico and in China. But that's a very minimal example. The majority of Americans are ignorant to the world outside of the US. And the only thing that this means is that they need to be more informed. It's not something to get so worked up about.
