My Bachelor thesis was about subliminal manipulation. In my research I examined in which way a graphic designer can manipulate someone through his designs so this person performs a certain action.

First, I read and studied a lot about the psychology of the brains.

Then I turned this into practice. I did an experiment in which the participants had to enter a building and then pick a few objects out of a bundle. I created all kinds of images in which I hid subliminal images. I hid these messages from the entrance of the building to the exhibition space itself. These subliminal messages had to pilot the visitor unknowingly so, for example, he or she chose just that one specific flyer from a total of 5. By doing this research I wanted to investigate how much power a graphic designer has on the viewer through his designs.
