I suddenly got inspired to draw some more submas whump/angsty stuff so I felt like sharing this little wip~ I really enjoy drawing intense expressions and adding all those little details is fun~ 👀

⚠ CW: kidnapping
I think we can all agree that it’s really heartbreaking if one of the twins gets separated from the other. And if one of them gets kidnapped, I believe both would feel guilty for not being there to help...
Personally I think Ingo would feel a much greater pressure as the older brother to stay by Emmet’s side and keep him safe. Of course, I don’t see Emmet as helpless and neither does Ingo-- they’re equals and they respect each other a lot. But still, I believe Ingo carries a heavier sense of responsibility for looking after his brother.
If Emmet were the one kidnapped, he’d probably feel irritated with himself for being so careless and upset that he’s now causing trouble for Ingo. Of course he would be scared and shocked at first (that’s a completely normal reaction) but I see Emmet as especially stubborn and gutsy; He’d definitely make some snarky comments to his kidnapper(s) and doesn't want to show how he's really feeling.
I think Ko mentioned this in some post before (sorry if my memory fails me lol), but I agree that Ingo is more reckless with his own safety and maybe a bit more trusting and/or naive. Even though Emmet is often portrayed as more “childish”, I think he actually checks his surroundings and safety carefully and that piercing eye contact of his makes it pretty hard for anyone to catch him off guard, lol.
And I have my own little headcanon regarding this topic. To put it simply, I like to think that Emmet was really careless/rowdy when they were younger. But after an accident happened to Ingo because of his carelessness, he decided he didn’t want to be a “burden” to Ingo anymore. But of course Ingo doesn’t think he’s a burden at all.
