Mod Wanted

Mod Ohma here! For those of you who have been around since December of last year (2017), you know that my home/personal life isn’t... exactly the best at points. I’ve gotten behind on requests, and because of this, I’m searching for someone to help run ITE.

Requirements to be a Mod:

You must be at least 16 to appy. (You must be 18+ if you wish to write for the NSFW asks.)

You must have knowledge of at least 2 transformers based series.

You must be willing to have a Mod Name or be willing to use a personal nickname. If you are under 18, you must use a false name, no ifs, ands or buts.

Messages between users are enabled, and I am unsure if other mods can see them once they are appointed. Followers that have questions/Friends who have submitted asks have messaged me, and personal things have been said. If you have been chosen to be a mod, please respect my privacy and the privacy of the people I messaged. (On that note I kindly ask those who message ITE to contact me to use @omsrandom once a second Mod is appointed.

Be aware that minors do follow this blog, and to always tag NSFW and any triggering content. Failure to do so will result in a kick and block.

Be nice to our followers! If there’s something up, see if you can resolve it without doing callouts or getting snappy.

Hello my lovely dreamers, I love that you’re sending me in dreams! Every single submission means so much to me. But some have not followed the format that I requested in my previous posts (Which is totally ok that you did that, but I want to be clearer) so I’ll write it here for easier access.

Only one dream per submission/ask/dm!!!

When submitting a fic is there any certain format one should follow? Also, maintaining a fic Rec is not an easy task so, much love and respect to everyone on this blog! Thanks for taking time out if your lives to make ours a little easier 😂 ❤️

Hello! Well, usually we don’t ask of much when submitting a fic aside from the link, name, and ship! The other factors like the length and the rating or summary are all things we can add up to or just post without! If you want to use a format, the usual format we use when reccing a fic is this one:

So after today’s bout of queue adding, I’m going to be more strict with submissions - I need them in the correct format, which includes the words “Today’s Queer Headcanon of the Day is:”, bolding, etc. Submissions that aren’t formatted correctly won’t be accepted, and I won’t be telling you each time I don’t accept, either, so please, stay on top of that if you want your submissions accepted. I’m fine with fixing tagging (especially since tumblr doesn’t seem to be able to handle the amount of tags I want anyway), but I’m super tired of fixing posts in such big and repetitive ways. So yeah, fair warning to everyone. XP

If I want to submit under my chosen name, would I need to indicate my legal name for any reason like payment or something? Where/how should I do that if necessary?

Yes, you MUST tell us your legal name if we are to be able to pay you (this is not necessarily your given name, just whatever is your current legal name). BUT, if you want to be published under a pen-name or other name, that’s great! Many people do this, and it’s super easy. When you submit to us, there is a space in the online submission form to indicate your preferred name(s).

It is also customary, when submitting a manuscript to follow standard manuscript formatting (for some examples, look here and here!). We’re not sticklers at Vitality (like, we don’t reject pieces because they’re not in standard format), but it’s still a good idea, and shows professionalism. If you don’t want to provide all that information (like maybe you don’t want your address or phone number or something on your MS) that’s ok too! Also, some of the formatting things are a bit old-fashioned, and were standardized before the web and e-publishing was a big thing. So like, don’t worry about underlining italics (please just don’t do this for us at all!) or putting it in the “right” font. As long as the font is clear & easily readable, we probably won’t even notice. Margins are not an issue, whatever your standard margin is will be fine. But DO make sure it’s in a universal file-format, like .rtf or .doc so we can open it! 

But do be sure to put your legal name, the story’s title, a word-count, and your preferred by-line (i.e. your pen-name) somewhere on the front page. This makes it easy for us to see who the story belongs to, and how long it is! We read a lot of stories, so the easier you make these things for us, the happier we are to be reading your wonderful story. ^_^

Looking forward to reading all your great queer stories when we reopen to submissions! (And sorry for such a long answer, Anon! Probably more info than you needed, but this was a great question to talk about submission format).
