My #SubmitSunday #HashtagFAIL If anyone has any suggestions for a new hashtag plan, I am currently reworking the model. 🤦🏻♀️ https://www.instagram.com/p/CNO40iwrP2F/?igshid=2oi0vbgauudc
This week’s episode of #StopWritingAlone is all about my personal 2021 #writerlife goal: 52 submissions in 52 weeks and how I want you to start thinking about the process for yourself. In this episode I discuss my motivation for setting the challenge, the methods I am using to find and share #submissioncallsforwriters (like #submitSunday!), and some tips for prepping yourself and your work for submission in various markets. You can listen to this podcast @applepodcasts @spotifypodcasts @stitcherpodcasts or wherever else you tune in to your podcasts. (FYI: If you like to listen on @youtube, the podcast uploads to the NV Rivera YouTube channel.) #newepisode https://www.instagram.com/p/CKT5_wvgMxe/?igshid=1xvzo8m55xnuv
If you are an Instagram Story fan, chances are you have noticed that in the last couple of weeks my stories have been taken over by a hashtag #submitSunday. In case you missed it, or have been unsure what it is, I thought I’d take a minute today to explain what I’m doing. It begins with my personal #writerlife 2021 challenge: this year I am committing to 52 submissions in 52 weeks. I’ve spent years writing and writing and simply hanging on to all of my writing. This year I’m sending it “out there” one week at a time. As a result of this project, I am on the hunt for #submissioncalls. I have been tagging them and saving them for later perusal and they are piling up! It does no good for me to keep this all to myself. So I got a tiny bit organized and decided to make a day of my sharing. Each Sunday I share a bunch of submission calls that I stumbled across this way you can explore them too! I do want to share that the submission process is a personal one. Before you decide to share your writing with any of the places I share — or any other place you find — make sure you READ THEIR GUIDELINES, PERMISSIONS, RIGHTS, and REQUIREMENTS THOROUGHLY making sure that their publication and team in one you want to work with. I have not done all of my own thorough research on each of these calls when I share them — curating them here is one way I organize them for my own exploration, please make sure you do your own due diligence as well! https://www.instagram.com/p/CKJ8v1ygaN_/?igshid=1lartp7boagvg
