Figuring out if you should post your poems or save them for submission
How do you determine which of your children to send off to school
when you know after they land somewhere they may not be accepted elsewhere,
since there is a trail following every decision you make for them?
Because if a child goes to one university, another university might assume
that he or she will not be a good fit somewhere else.
Before the Internet, it was easy to make decisions about university since one might not know
about the other unless stated on a résumé during a time when it was a lot easier to bluff.
Now, all a university has to do is look at a social media feed to know where someone was,
how they got there, how long they stayed. It really is so hard to tell which of your children
to keep at home and which ones to send off because you never know what the world will think
of them, versus your belief they are worthy of every Ivy League school there is.
