“Gannon,” says the securitron by the elevator door. Not Victor’s voice, as usually comes from this unit-- nor is it Victor’s face on the screen.
House doesn’t make a habit of speaking to the guests Liam has invited into his home. Victor was created to be welcoming, hospitable; he’s better suited to the task than his creator. On a normal occasion, House would be content to allow that arrangement to continue. But Liam has seemingly disappeared from the face of the earth, and this isn’t a normal occasion.
“I’m well aware of your views about me,” House begins, seeing no point in glossing over the obvious. He could offer mindless pleasantries, but he doubts Gannon would appreciate them-- or believe them. “However, you and I share something in common: concern for our mutual friend.” A pause. “If you know anything regarding his whereabouts, it’s in his best interests that you tell me.”
