Is there any others knowledgeable on subspace that could tell you its history instead of possibly traveling to an American library?

Or is it best case to just go to a library for a history check?

I mean like- not in Toronto, Canada at least. As I said, kinda a drought of subspace knowledge over here.

Canadians do have subspace, actually.

Or well, Toronto does. They built it in the seventies before it was called that, so they don't know they have it, and it's not quite as good as modern code-compliant highways, but they have it.

I know you're new to the city so you probably haven't seen it. The next time you're downtown, ask Kim or Scott to show you the Toronto PATH. That's what they call it there.

Okay, I feel a little bit stupid now… though it does feel slightly odd that whenever I described subspace to them the never were like “oh yeah, you mean that PATH thing?” Or like “oh you’re talking about the PATH?” I wonder how different it is. Maybe it’s just obscure.

Hm, I never stopped to check if hopping through other peoples minds is considered “uncouth” in Toronto.

Yeah it’s full of people! They tend to all mind their business and go on their own way, but things get crowded fast.

I know in Australia the subspace areas are used more like a 'getaway' spot, especially with the sudden changes in climates for the weather of day to day.

So some just use it to escape the extreme heat or the extreme weather in general. Though it's not common knowledge it's thought of as the 'manifesting' trend that occurred some time ago. Since the Australian public isn't as informed compared to other places as well.

Subspace tends to be the manifestation of the subconscious mind- so honestly that name is better than the one we got. Though “manifestation highways” sounds less like a legitimate form of transportation and more like a really shitty rock band.

And that usecase in Australia does add up. If we had Terror-Bear Showers and Hellfire Storms over here I bet the most common subconscious thought would “I wish I wasn’t here right now” as well.

Every country has a subspace zone. it's just called different things everywhere + sometimes only learnt about those who do advanced classes and shit.

I mean that does make sense- it’s not like Toronto doesn’t have a subspace highway, it’s highway is just very… lonely.

Wish we had a more standardized system of naming for it though- or at least some cross cultural education.

does the subspace and astral plane align at all in any way? Even if it’s like one little thing?

Not psychic so I don’t exactly have knowledge on the good old Plane o’ A, but I’d wager that it has something to do with it. It is the subconscious dreamscape of basically everyone alive- I could see that intersecting with the Plane.

Maybe the veil between the physical world and planes is a tad thinner in subspace, wouldn’t surprise me.

You’d probably wanna ask Mobile if you want more info.

Can you travel to other countries in subspace???

Theoretically yes- but in practice no

Most countries usually have a pretty tight border situation set up in subspace. I’ve only really managed to slip past once (through the Canadian border) and that’s when I was really buzzed up on The Glow. Would not recommend by the way- even if you do need to border hop for whatever reason.

While some countries have a customs booth or two set up at their subspace border, for most it’s just a big ol’ wall. Its not impassable (it is subspace after all) but very reinforced.

Miss Ramona!!! Every country has a slightly different and altered terms for subspace!!

Like I heard in germany it's called the tunnels! Since they are more seen as like transit tunnels with little trams running through it at times!

Plus I think subspace is just not well known in Canada cause toronto is stupid people heheh!
