'The Taeniura have very interesting sleep schedules for a Serpentes. They will often find themselves needing to take short rests at seemingly random times. They still stay awake or the same number of hours as animalian, but they just don't rest in large chunks. When I asked why they do it all of them said the same thing, that its the 'beauty sleep' and without it their scales would fade and they wouldn't look as put together. Im not sure what intermittent sleeping has to do with any of that, but they seem convinced that naps are the way to go, perhaps ill give it a try one of these days and see if it works.

The sun and heat in the desert make it hard for many Animalian to survive being in it. However, there are a few Vulpes that do not have this problem. One of which is the Pallida who thrive within the hot sands. They are rare to encounter due to how few of them that exist, but those that do have a strong connection with the desert believing that their fur was created from the sand itself.

When the group ‘turkey’ is mentioned most Animalians' thoughts go directly to Gallopavo as they can be found all over the world in plentiful numbers. However there is another subspecies that subscribes to this group called the Ocellata. The Ocellata tend to be quite secretive despite their brilliantly striking colors. Rumor has it that many of them are born in the city of Yucatan but no one Ocellata has ever laid eyes on this city. Oh do I wish I could visit the city, even if just for a moment or two as its said that its a unified utopia….perhaps they may make an exception for a researcher like me?
Note: Although I do not think I will ever be able to realistically be allowed to see Yucatan, I do think there is a good chance that I would be allowed into the Ocellata school where they teach those that venture into the rest of the world how to live. They need teachers there that have lived in the world after all.

A new subspecies and legend has been once more added to our record. The Madagascariensis Serpentes subspecies has quite a handful of a name leading many to simply call them Malagasy or Mad Hogs. Despite their stern faces and the mad in one of their common names these Serpentes seem to be quite a pleasant subspecies with many of them asking what they could do to help when I was collecting information on them.
Caution is advised against trying to take advantage of anyone under their care as even stating what most would consider to be a ‘rude remark’ about anyone under their care will cause them to become mad and extremely defensive whether or not the remark is truthful in nature. We have yet to get any art depicting their legend or subspecies yet but the log will be updated when we do.

Megalotis are considered to be a bit odd among other Vulples, not only because of their false fox status but also because of their diet. They prefer to eat insects, with Macrotermes Braminus being most Megalotis’ favorite meals. Many Magalotis find jobs as termite farmers to give them and their communities a constant supply of their preferred food, with Macrotermes mound being passed from one generation to the next. They will spend the day sleeping and wake up at night to harvest grubs when the bugs are less active. Due to this nocturnal lifestyle Megalotis have exceptionally good night vision and can spot their prey on moonless nights. Although most become farmers due to needing a good source of food, some do it to honor their ancestors (see the story of the Megalotis for more info).
The first thing someone will notice when looking at a Megalotis are their extraordinarily large ears. They have the largest ears of all Vulpes. Their large ears allow them to hear exceptionally well, they can pick up the sound of bugs scuttling under the earth. Many termite farmers will use their ears to track down new mounds to add to their collection. However, these ears can also be used to listen in on conversations they arn’t meant to hear. Because of this skill Megalotis can make great infiltrators or even guards. Although most would consider this is a useful trait, this talent often makes others more weary of them and what they know.
Within Megalotis communities, it is expected that they will always put their communities and family first. Because of their close-knit nature many Megalotis find it easy to read others expressions and actions, allowing them to try to solve problems they see forming before they even happen. They often communicate best with others with their actions rather then their words.

The artic fox comes in two morphs, the white and blue morph. Due to their legend, the two morphs tend to be standoffish with each other, but there are some towns such as stormcrest where they work together and embrace their past.
