New Order - Substance 1987 (1987)

On this day—August 17, 1987—Substance 1987, the compilation double album by New Order, was released. Containing all of the 12” versions of band’s singles, it would go on to sell over one million copies and became the band’s most popular and critically acclaimed release. A companion volume to a similar compilation of Joy Division’s music, also titled Substance, it is regularly listed among the greatest albums of all time.
