Lance Loves

Lance loved who he was. Not that he was anyone important, but he still loved who he was a lot. Maybe he shouldn't, maybe he should consider that he only loves who he is because of those around him, but he doesn't dwell on it.

Another thing Lance loves: the people around him. His friends from home, his family, his friends from the Garrison, his alien friends, and even Keith. Keith was a whole different category because Lance first thought of him as a rival; someone to compete against. But then he saw himself in Keith - insecure and trying his best to love himself.

Lance also loves making the people around him happy. As he watched from the corner of the room, he started to realize that maybe it'd make them happier if he wasn't there. They each had their friends - Keith and Shiro, Coran and Allura, Pidge and Hunk, even Matt joined them sometimes. So maybe, just maybe, it'd be better if he left.

Lance hated being alone, so he decided that leaving was an awful idea and waited for a better idea to arise. As he thought about this, the others flocked to him one by one, hanging out with him. Even Matt, whom he was worried would hurt Allura if he pursued a relationship with his self-named alien sister.

Lance decided that maybe he was just a floater, not a third - or rather, eighth - wheel. He floated between people, spending time with everyone. Making sure they were alright, making sure they were happy.

Lance loved his family.
