The evening hums with a quiet intensity. The lights of the city outside pulse faintly through the tinted window, casting soft shadows across the room. You can hear the faint clink of glass—champagne, bubbles swirling in a golden flute—and you catch the spark in Ratio's eyes as he lifts his drink. The waves of his hair are tousled tonight, a careless disarray that contrasts with his usual precision. He’s relaxed, the sharp lines of his persona softened, but the fire in his gaze remains, burning brighter, more daring.
His voice, low and rich, breaks the silence. “Do you know what I love most about brilliance?” His words are deliberate, measured, like every thought behind them is crafted with care. You don’t answer, though, caught in the sway of his tone as he continues. “It’s... intoxicating. Like a drug, it consumes you, leaves you desperate for more. A spark here, a connection there.”
He shifts closer, the folds of his blue drape brushing against your skin. His eyes flicker over you, sharp and unyielding, but there’s something else behind them—something raw, something unguarded. It lingers in the faint smirk tugging at his lips, the way his gaze traces you, taking in every curve, every breath you take.
“You’re quiet tonight,” he murmurs, setting the glass aside. The sound of it against the table is dull, muted compared to the sudden roaring in your ears. “Thinking too much? Or perhaps not enough?” There’s a tease in his words, but the warmth of his hand when it finds yours is grounding, almost tender. Almost.
“Maybe,” you begin, but the words falter when he leans in, close enough that you can feel his breath against your cheek. He smells of champagne and something electric, like the promise of an impending storm.
“I’ve been thinking about you,” he confesses, his voice dropping to a near whisper, an intimate secret meant only for you. His fingers trail up, brushing your wrist, lingering at the pulse point as though measuring your reaction. “Thinking about the way you look at me when you think I’m not paying attention. The way you try to match me, to keep up. Tell me, are you doing it for me? Or for yourself?”
You don’t have an answer—at least, not one you can articulate while he’s this close. He doesn’t seem to mind, though. He chuckles softly, his breath ghosting against your skin, leaving a trail of heat.
“I think you want someone like me,” he says, his confidence unshakable, as if he’s deduced every thought in your mind and laid it bare between you. “Crazy, unpredictable, brilliant. Someone who challenges you, pushes you, drives you mad.” He leans back just slightly, enough to meet your eyes fully, his expression a mix of amusement and something far darker. “But are you ready for it?”
You don’t answer with words. You don’t need to. The air between you is charged, thick with unspoken possibilities, and when his hand cups your cheek, thumb brushing over your lips, you let yourself lean into him.
“Good,” he breathes, and the sound is almost reverent, like a discovery made, a hypothesis proven. “Then let’s see where this takes us, shall we?”
No, this was totally not based on that song during that CaitVi scene, I do not know what you're talking about... 🧍♀️🫣
