Important Limitation — The Chaos Book
The Chaos Book is not an unlimited source of power. Although it preserves the existence of Future Derpy, every use requires a payment from the wielder.
The cost depends on the power they attempt to draw from the book.
Minor abilities (small spells, creating simple objects, basic elemental attacks) consume the wielder’s magic power.
Greater abilities (creating powerful maids, granting authorities, summoning large-scale magic, commanding powerful creatures) consume part of the wielder’s life force.
Forbidden or reality-altering abilities require a portion of the wielder’s soul in exchange for access to Future Derpy’s sealed power.
The stronger the ability requested, the greater the sacrifice.
Future Derpy does not choose the price—the Chaos Book itself determines the appropriate payment.
Because Future Derpy’s existence is sealed within the book, the wielder is effectively borrowing his preserved power by offering something of equal value in return.
Power cannot be taken freely. Every command written into the Chaos Book demands an equivalent sacrifice—magic, life, or soul.
This also gives Roae an interesting dilemma. Even though she possesses the Chaos Book, she cannot simply unleash limitless power without paying for it herself. Every decision forces her to weigh whether the result is worth the cost, reinforcing the idea that even the Root of All Evil cannot escape the laws of equivalent sacrifice
Roae does not travel into the past simply to rewrite history for herself.
She goes back because Future Derpy is technically dead, yet still preserved inside the Chaos Book as the next Calamity. She refuses to let his story end there, so she begins protecting the people he left behind—especially Derpy’s daughters.
Challenge the gods, protect Derpy’s daughters, and use the future’s knowledge to prevent the events that destroyed Derpy.
Chain Siphon is Future Roae’s primary combat ability.
She summons enchanted chains that attach to gods or other powerful beings and drain:
or portions of their active abilities.
The stolen energy flows into Roae and can then be transferred into Derpy’s Chaos Book.
Normally, the Chaos Book requires payment from its user:
life force for greater powers,
soul energy for forbidden powers.
Chain Siphon gives Roae a loophole.
Instead of spending her own power, she can use energy taken from gods as the sacrifice.
create maids using stolen divine power,
grant dragon, wolf, or harpy authority,
fuel fire, ice, poison, or electricity,
create weapons or defenses,
and unleash destructive Chaos Book abilities.
The gods effectively pay the price for the powers Roae uses against them.
Future Roae becomes stronger the longer a divine battle lasts.
Every god who attacks her risks becoming fuel for:
or another attack from Future Derpy’s preserved power.
Her strongest tactical rule becomes:
The more power a god brings against Roae, the more power she can take from them.
