THE ULTIMATE HUMILIATION OF TATSUYA TENDO
It wasn't long before Monobear set up another announcement, his high pitched voice infecting every crevasse of the hospital much like a disease. The screens installed just for these humiliations were still clear to see, buzzing gently as they emanated a soft green light.
"All this has really got me fired up right now you know? So I've decided to reveal more things to you all... I can't wait any longer... the anticipation is unbearable!"
Metal fingers gripped around Tatsuya's forearms, being sure to grab his sleeves in the process to make an exit more difficult. The two usual medical robots were joined by a third who wrapped elongated arms around his legs, being sure to pin him to the spot. After all, it would be no fun if the escape artist could actually escape from his own humiliation! The spotlight flickered on from above, encasing the student in a prison of white.
"Tatsuya, yeah? And you're an escape artist, odd talent for a kid to have. So. Do you remember, a certain event, a few years ago? Oh? By the look on your face you do." Grinning evilly, the bear bowed and gestured towards the screen, which alongside the others in the building, lit up to show an odd scene. There the familiar male was, his appearance differing slightly. Younger, hair coloured blue and pinned back, with the usually timid boy giving off an air of confidence. He was strapped and chained down to what looked like a metal table, with an ominous set of spikes suspended above, ready to be released once a rope had been burned through. Around the stage sat a large audience, seemingly captivated. "Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to the most pathetic show on Earth. Now what is an escape artist, who cannot escape, but a failure? Ah, how about I let the film do the talking?"
Eagerly clapping his hands, Monobear gestured towards the video. A woman stepped forward, setting the rope on fire before standing nearby, doing a small dance to the act's music. Calmly, the male began to move, easily slipping his arms out of the metal restraints. Taking a quick wave to the audience, a light smile seemed to play on his lips as he began to try and free his feet. That smile began to fade into a frown, before warping into an expression on abject terror.
A terrified scream was cut short.
"You screwed up that act, in front of a live audience, even after the endless practice and safety precautions that were put in place. Thank despair for the quick acting stage-hands, otherwise you would've been a human kebab... Oh. Wait."
Clambering up to stand on one of the robot's shoulders, he leaned over towards the boy, extending a paw towards his face. "But you were stabbed, weren't you? Just look at the video, yep, it's still playing! Look everyone, look at how the escape artist screwed up!" Instead of turning his attention to the screen he viciously yanked up the student's fringe, revealing an arc-like scar tainting the skin of his cheek. "Luckily due to the varying length of spikes, injuries sustained were not completely life threatening. But you did have one go through your face, right? Across your cheek into your mouth. Mmm, what did the metal taste like?" Giggling the bear leapt down, taking a bow after rubbing his stomach. "Why do you think he wears those long sleeves all the time? Pretty sure if you defended yourself with your arms you'd have quite a few scars there too. How shameful. Personally I think your career should have ended there, but you ran from it all didn't you? Coward. Hiding from your screw ups, trying to not let the despair take you. Now, now everyone here knows how you failed. You can't flee from that life any longer. The marks that remind you of your weakness every day are clear to see for all! Upupupu!"
Walking away to exit through a corridor, he left the tape running, and left the robots pinning the boy there for a while longer. Forcing him to endure that agony once again. And again.
