A woman living in a large country home drives her servants to mutiny with her outrageous demands as she waits for death to come for her.
Warmerdam is what Yorgos Lanthimos can be when his work stays grounded in reality. Mastering that tightrope walk of believability amongst absurd actions and moments is tricky beyond belief but Warmerdam has done it
The film is hilarious but understated. Normal but subversive and mad but careful in how in slowly unveils itself.
