“You could do something-”

“Julieta, we’re out of mango juice.” A man interrupts as he walks past them. Julieta gives a strained smile and nods her head. As the man is out of sight, she rolls her eyes and rubs her temples. Agustin smiles at her, placing a hand on her hip. 

“Well, I can help you with-”

“Agustin! Can you please play the piano? The band needs a break and we don’t want the dancing to stop.” A woman pats him on the shoulder and walks away before he could answer. His jaw clenches and his lips form a thin line. He looks down at Julieta with an apologetic expression.

“I don’t think I’m going-”

“Agustin, mi amigo! How have you been?!” 

“Julieta! Can you please share you recipe for these?”

“Agustin you have to share how keep your clothes so clean.” 

“Julieta, I swear I haven’t seen you all night! Where have you been?” 

“Agustin!”

“Julieta!”

Several minutes pass as Julieta and Agustin are quickly being separated by the onslaught of other partygoers. Agustin’s irritation has built to its peak as he bites down harshly on his inner cheek. He glances at Julieta and can easily see her tapping her foot in annoyance while talking to a group of elderly women. She looks out of the corner of her eye and sees him staring. He notices her mouthing the worlds ‘help me’. A fire ignites in his chest.

“Fuck it.” Agustin growls. The band begins to pick up the pace of their song as he briskly walks to Julieta. He can feel the drums in his chest as he rips off his tie and throws it to the side, his eyes never leaving her. She turns around fully as he draws closer. She tilts her head with a playful smirk when she notices him swaying his hips to the music as he walks, his eyes give her an invitation that cannot be denied. She grabs her shawl and flings it over her head onto the floor, revealing her exposed shoulders. 

Another snippet, this one a bit bigger because I love yall. Irritation fueling a heated dance session? I’m here for it!  They are angry that the random partygoers kept interrupting their dirty talk and honestly I would be too.

“I can’t believe it!” Julieta growls as Agustin spins her. “I work all day to make food for this party and I don’t get a moment of peace with my boyfriend.” Julieta frowns as Agustin and her glide across the dance floor. Their movements mimic the beats of the horns and drums from the band. All Agustin can do is look at her as they dance, his body on auto pilot. Her anger and annoyance is contagious, for he also is angry for not being able to talk to her all day. 

“They are selfish!” Agustin snarls, grabbing her waist and pulling her close so their chests connect. “They don’t deserve you! None of them.” They break apart, stomping their feet and slowly circling each other, their gazes never breaking. He stares at her with hungry eyes, drinking in every inch of her. Her red dress matches her angry expression and it is intoxicating. They clasp hands and Agustin pushes forward, Julieta glides backwards gracefully. He places one hand around her waist and dips her. 

“Do you deserve me?” Julieta whispers looking up at him with a raised eyebrow.  Agustin clicks his tongue, a newfound fire now set ablaze in his mind. He brings her up and they continue their dance. The band seems to pick up in intensity as all the other dancers fade from his view. Agustin leads Julieta across the dance floor like a ship on the waves, expertly dodging the other couples in their path. He spins her once again and their chest collide, Julieta’s leg flies up and wraps around him. 

“I don’t deserve you. But I’ll earn my place.” Agustin whispers, leaning his face closer to hers. Julieta’s eyes look around them and she smiles. 

“Everyone is staring at us.” She giggles. 

“I don’t care if they watch forever, my eyes are only on you.” Agustin tightens his grip around her waist. Julieta licks her lips slowly. 

“Prove it.” 

 Another snippet! Honestly writing this while listening to tango/ intense ballroom music is really fun. Also describing dance moves is AWFUL but I chose this.

Once again their gazes meet, but just like the other times, Julieta is whisked away. Agustin cannot enjoy his moment of peace either, because he too is whisked away to a different part of the party. It has been the same back and forth the whole day, him and Julieta haven’t said two words to each other since the morning. It is painful to have her so close, just to be ripped from his grasp moments before they can open their mouths. Being forced to only look at her from a distance has been nothing but aggravating. He wants to shower her with all the pent up compliments brewing in his head. 

A little bit of a sneak peek at the next +18 Julieta and Agustin fic I’m workin on👀 The name of the fic is called “Tango: Julieta”

Two Broken Pieces Snippet

Julieta quickly fixes her hair as she passes the mirror in the hallway. She grabs her purse and rummages through it and does a quick checklist. Her wallet, check, her lipstick, check, mint breath spray? She stops for a moment. She will not be kissing anyone tonight. At least she doesn’t plan on it, though things can happen... Her cheeks begin to heat up slightly at the thought. She shakes her head and takes the breath spray out of her purse and places it on the table. Julieta turns and walks into the living room. 

“Okay mama, dinner is in the blue container in the fridge, all you have to do is uncover it and stick it in the oven.” She instructs as she walks up to the couch where Isabela and Alma are sitting. “Make sure Isa is in bed by nine. I want her to eat a lot of veggies tonight. She had too many sweets earlier.” She smiles at the small mischievous giggle that emanates from her daughter. “Oh, and if anything goes wrong, or you don’t hear from me. Don’t hesitate to call me and if that doesn’t-” 

“Mija,” Alma holds up a hand with a small, sincere smile. She gently grabs Julieta’s hand and gives it a squeeze. “Everything will be fine. You go enjoy yourself. You deserve it.” Julieta smiles at her mother’s words. “Now, I only wish you could bring your hermano.” Alma raises her voice and squints at Bruno, who is leaning back in his armchair as he watches the television while eating chips out of a bag. 

“You aren’t getting rid of me that easily mama, nice try.” Bruno chuckles to himself, a small squeak from one of his hoodie catches his attention. He reaches into his hoodie pocket and retrieves a rather large grey rat from it. “Why do you always wake up angry?” Bruno complains at the rat. It squeaks in annoyance. “Fine.” He huffs and places the rat gently on the top of his head and continues watching TV. Alma and Julieta blink at him. 

“Two out of three, Pedro. We did good with two out of three.” Alma whispers as she closes her eyes and lightly holds onto her locket. As Alma mutters about her son’s strangeness, Julieta bites back a giggle and turns her attention to Isabela.

See? I’m working on my fics! I swear! It has been difficult bringing myself to write anything lately. 

But, I wanted to use this post to say that I’m going to make a BIG change with Two Broken Pieces. As much as I love the slow burn, I’m getting rid of it. So, after this chapter is posted, the fic will pick up pace. Nothing will be rushed, but I have been disliking the slow pacing of this fic for awhile and I think I need to speed it up a notch.

I’ll be posting the bonus chapter of Two Broken Pieces fairly late tonight, sorry! I had a eventful night last night and I am dealing with the out come this morning. Take a snippet, as my apology!  

Luisa wraps her arms around his neck as they enter the shop. She buries her face into his neck, and he feels her exhales a large tired breath. He giggles when he feels her body loosens up and she goes slack in his arms, he knows she’ll need a nap soon. Today was very energy consuming for her. A bell rings as he pushes open the door. His eyes are met with a beautiful sight of different musical instruments that are on display. Guitars, trumpets, tiples, and even pianos little the storefront. Several customers walk around, gazing at and picking up items. 

“Ay! There he is!” Félix shouts, zooming over to them from his spot behind the counter. He pats Agustín hard on the shoulder. “Gus, amigo, how are you doing?”  Félix’s wide smile and energy is difficult to not replicate, the man is a ball of sunshine. 

“I’m doing good Félix. Just did some grocery shopping with the little one.”  Agustín looks down at Luisa with a smile. The two-year-old lifts her head and shyly turns to look at Félix. She rubs her eyes with one hand and gives a tiny wave with the other.  Félix coos loudly and pinches her chubby cheeks. 

“Hola señorita! Did you have fun shopping with your papá?”

Two Broken Pieces Snippet

“When she takes a bath, make sure the water isn’t too hot, but also not too cold. She has sensitive skin. And- and when she needs dinner, ask which juice she wants, her preference changes all the time.” Agustin relays as he slips on his navy blue blazer over his white dress shirt. “My phone number is on the fridge, so is my father’s number, also Señor Navarro’s number, who lives next door, is on the fridge. Call me or them if anything happens. And I mean anything. Make sure you-” 

“Señor Rojas, please calm down!” Eva laughs. “I have three younger siblings. I know how to take care of a two-year-old. But if anything happens, which I doubt, you are the first person I’ll call.” The teenager gives him a comforting smile. “Enjoy your night! Drink some wine, flirt with some chicas!” 

“I don’t think I should get this type of advice from a 16-year-old, but I understand the sentiment.” Agustin chuckles. He looks over to Luisa, she is staring at him from her spot on the couch while she hugs her tiny blue blanket. “Ay, mi estrella. I won’t be gone for long. I’ll be back way before you wake up.” He walks toward her and leans over the couch. She fiddles with her blanket and looks away from him. 

“Why are you leaving?” She mumbles. The sentence sends a dagger through Agustin’s heart. It fully dawns on him now. In her entire two years of life, he has never fully left her side. There was a short period when she was a few months old and he still had his job, but she was too young to remember that. This is the first time she is aware of him leaving her. He looks toward the door and bites his lip. Should he go? What if something happens when he is out? Eva is a competent girl, and she cares for Luisa, but she is a teenager, and some things require an adult. What if Luisa falls and hurts herself? What if she has an allergic reaction and her throat swells? What if-

“Lu, your Papi is leaving for a really short time.” Eva reassures, walking over and sitting next to Luisa. “Plus, when he is gone, we can have a girls’ night! There is that new Defender of the Grand Pod movie that we can watch. You know, the one with the talking seal?” Agustin’s heart warms when he notices Luisa’s mood brighten. She smiles and claps her hands together in excitement.

Party chapter is coming along swimmingly! Nearly 2k words already and I’m not even close to finished. I think its going to be the longest chapter yet.

Hi! I am back from my little weekend-long vacation to Chicago. Trust me I am going to update my existing fics! Give me time! But, recently my girlfriend learned that I write smut... she read all three of my smutty fics and now she has teamed up with me to write one together. Oh realistically, she rambles off ideas and I write them.

Julieta leans against the doorframe, tilting her head as she slowly stirs the contents of her glass with her finger. A smirk tugs its way onto her lip as she drinks in the sight of the man she married just a few days ago. Agustín’s shirt is absent, allowing Julieta to latch her gaze onto his toned shoulders and back. Smoke billows up from the cigarette between his lips as his fingers pluck at the guitar that sits on his lap. 

“Pasan sus noches y madrugadas,” Agustín sings, his voice low and a little raspy. His fingers pluck the guitar strings and Julieta feels a chill run down the length of her spine. “Llenas de hambre,  Siguen andando y navegando un mundo.” Julieta watches as he leans back in his chair, his eyes closed and a small smile on his face as he sings. She feels her heart slam against her chest when she notices the scruff growing feverously across the lower half of his face. He decided that shaving during their honeymoon was worthless, and she can’t agree more.  

She removes her finger from the cold liquid that fills her glass, bringing the digit up to her mouth and licking the remnants of her drink off it. The ice clacking against the side of the glass catches Agustín’s attention. He slowly opens one eye, his fingers still expertly playing the instrument in his hands. A large grin spreads across his face as his eye looks her over.

“Hola mami, you look well rested.” Agustín sucks in a sharp breath and blows a plume of smoke out. “I must say your hair looks astounding.” Julieta chuckles. 

“It did before someone messed it up.” She jokingly scolds, giving him a burning stare.  Agustín laughs. 

“Guilty.” He admits, throwing his head back as he lets out a low throaty laugh. Julieta’s eyes gain a full few of his neck, and the many love bites she left the night before. She exhales through her nose so harshly as she pushes back a growl.

For those interested, I should be good to release snippets for a new fic. 👀 This one stars our lovely Isabela! And an OC. I've been working on it for a while now.

The whole thing is going to be my thrift shop version of Mamma Mia, which means all of it are inspired by an Abba Song lol
